Description

We are seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Professor of Romance Philology/Literature and Cultural Studies at Grahamtown.

The ideal candidate will have a broad expertise in research and teaching in the field of French and Italian studies.

They will be expected to actively participate in international and interdisciplinary teaching and research collaborations within the Bonn Romance Studies department, as well as serve on the leadership team of the Frankreichzentrum Centre Ernst Robert Curtius.

Additionally, the candidate will be involved in faculty teaching and research initiatives, as well as contribute to academic self-governance committees.

International and interdisciplinary teaching and research experience, as well as a track record of securing external funding, are required.

Applicants must hold a relevant doctoral degree and have completed a habilitation or equivalent qualifications. The hiring process will follow the guidelines outlined in § 36 of the Higher Education Act of North Rhine-Westphalia.
