Job Description:
Lifeguard Trainee

Duties:

Note: This is a training position for a certified Lifeguard. The trainee will work under close supervision and receive detailed guidance.
Must participate in all required training, including emergency rescue drills and emergency action plan simulations. Mandatory certifications must be completed within 30 days of employment.
Upon completion of mandatory certifications, the trainee will be reassigned to the position of Recreation Aid (Lifeguard), responsible for lifeguarding guests at an assigned aquatic facility.

Conditions of Employment:

Direct Deposit and Social Security Card are required.
Must meet qualification, eligibility, and background requirements for this position.
A probation period of one year may be required.
Must pass preemployment background checks, including a Tier 1 background investigation.
Must successfully complete a health screening and obtain required immunizations.
Must obtain and maintain Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR/AED certifications from a nationally recognized agency within 30 days of employment.
Must obtain Oxygen Administration certification within two weeks of reporting for duty if working at a facility that uses O2 bottles.
All required certifications must be obtained and kept current. Failure to do so may result in removal from employment.
Must pass a preemployment medical examination and have good vision (corrected if necessary) to effectively recognize emergencies, incidents, and rule violations.
