Overview:

Retina Consultants of Texas (RCTX) is seeking a Technician Training Specialist is a self-motivated individual who is passionate about helping our people grow by providing patient satisfaction with RCTX training programs.

The Technician Training Specialist will support the company needs for new and existing team members.


The position will be based out of the Post Oak Office and may require to Clinics in the Houston area.

Responsibilities:


  • Design and deliver training for new technicians and clinic Training staff on the basics of eye/retina anatomy, disease, and treatment.
  • Hands on training and observation of new hires and provide immediate feedback within their 30, 60 and 90 days.
  • Report to Regional Clinic Managers (RCM) regularly on the progress of new hires and assist with monitoring skills, development and employee/patient experience.
  • Review, assess and audit clinical team skills regularly to ensure necessary continuing education is provide. Create and maintain training material and guides as
  • Perform chart audits
  • Assist in clinic when the need arises.
  • Collaborate with Training and Development Coordinator (TDC) for new hire training plans.
  • Promote, coordinate, and facilitate ongoing training and educational materials for clinic
  • Regularly meets and communicates updates with Tech II trainers.
  • Regularly meets with RCMs and TDC to provide/ receive updates on clinical teams.
  • Assist HR team and other department leaders with companywide training initiatives.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

Education/Certification Requirements:


  • High school diploma required, bachelor's degree preferred
  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) preferred, required to obtain within 69 months.
  • Valid CPR Certification

Experience Requirements:


  • At least two years' experience preferred as an Ophthalmic Technician in an RCTX clinic.
  • Experience training staff in a vitreoretinal clinic

  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, especially in a teaching
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with physicians, coworkers, and

  • Variable schedule and travel requirements.
  • Requires frequent standing for long periods while working in a clinical
  • Hourly pay (FLSA nonexempt, eligible for overtime).
  • Lifting required up to 30 pounds
