Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world's leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking to hire a Technology Support Specialist I to provide support for computer and/or audiovisual hardware of a basic to moderate nature to ensure end-user productivity and efficiency.


Reporting to the Senior IT Manager, the Technology Support Specialist will use basic troubleshooting techniques to provide accurate, timely and creative resolutions to hardware-related issues and some software-related issues.

The Technology Support Specialist serves as a liaison between hardware engineers within IT (including the Help Desk) and the end user community.


This position will reside in our Philadelphia office and will be required to be onsite five (5) days a week.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Respond to enduser hardware requests and perform restorative actions to resolve problems while properly documenting issues and resolutions.
  • Respond to situations where standard procedures failed with hardware installations or upgrades.
  • Escalate critical issues to other localteam members or to Firm IT for level3 support.
  • Provide support for audiovisual and video conferencing systems and meetings.
  • Track, unpack, set up, test, and install all new equipment received by the local office.
  • Log all requests and their resolutions and provide status reports to the manager.
  • Participate (with testing and documentation) in software prepilots, pilots and rollouts.
  • Initial diagnoses of hardware errors to determine nature, possible cause and recommended course of action.
  • Provide preventative maintenance or recovery procedures to correct reported hardware errors.
  • Perform standard preventive maintenance on specified equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience and qualifications:

  • Associate degree in a related field and minimum one year experience in hardware and basic software support at a professional services organization.
  • Interpersonal skills with strong customer service orientation.
  • Selfstarter with the ability to work individually and as part of a team.
  • Problem solving, planning and organizational skills with the ability to adapt to changing demands.
  • Ability to read, write, interpret business correspondence and carry out general instructions and manuals.
  • Technical Skills including office productivity software, the Microsoft operating system, and audiovisual technologies.
