The three-year training program for Heilerziehungspflege (care for people with disabilities) is offered at the vocational schools in Kehl-Kork, Freiburg and Karlsruhe and follows a theory-practice model. This means that students not only need a place at the school, but also a practical training position in a facility for people with disabilities, mental illness or dementia.
A wide range of suitable practical placements are offered by Diakonie Kork and many other cooperation partners.
For the classes, which take place on specific days of the week, students are released from their practical placement.
During the training, students will get to know three different work placements, one of which includes a nursing internship.
