Description

The Montgomery County Police Department is seeking a Program Manger I in our Staff Inspection Unit within the Professional Accountability Division.

This unit is responsible for conducting inspections and audits in order to ensure proper administrative and operational controls are in place and being followed.


Employee will be responsible for becoming familiar with the entity they are auditing or inspecting; creating a unit profile to include all functions of that unit, completing a risk assessment of those functions, formulating an audit agenda and plan; coordinating with the inspected unit and organizing priorities, and creating reports that provide detailed information for completions of audit or inspection.


Duties included, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinating departmentwide inspections to ensure compliance, conformity, and uniformity in the conduct of the department's operations.
  • Conducting audits of all bureaus, divisions, and sections to evaluate the efficiency, performance, and retention of all assets.
  • Preparing an inspection/audit schedule detailing all onsite visits.
  • Creating written reports related to data and statistics.
  • Inputting and assisting with the tracking of data in program database.
  • Responding to inquiries from functional units within the police department.
  • Authorizing inspection and audit reports for submission to the division director.
  • Defining and developing recommendations based on inspections and audits.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience:
Three (3) years of professional experience in conducting audits and inspections.


Education:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree.


Equivalency:
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.


Preferred Criteria

  • All applicants will be reviewed for minimum qualification. Those applicants who meet minimum qualification will be related "Qualified", placed on the eligible list, and may be considered for an interview.
  • Experience with licensure, certification, or training in inspections and audits.
  • Experience in policy analysis, statistics, data management, project or program management.
  • Experience with monitoring compliance with mandates and/or other requirements.
  • Highly skilled in using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
  • Experience in the above areas related to law enforcement programs.
