Our practice includes in-house specialists in 10 areas of medicine, from cardiology to podiatry. We also offer unique services like our ambulatory surgery center and nuclear stress testing facility.


We are seeking to hire a part time Billing Support Coordinator to join our team in Towson
The Billing Support Coordinator will be responsible for verifying eligibility for patients prior to patient visits.

They will obtain necessary authorizations or verify in writing and/or by name and reference number that no authorization is needed.

They will complete and respond to Eligibility, Authorization, and Coordination of Benefits tasks in the NextGen EHR system.


The Billing Support Coordinator maintains an updated knowledge base needed to stay current with all policies, changes and additions to processing procedures.

The Billing Support Coordinator supports and promotes the overall philosophy of the company by setting a consistent example of exceptional patient and customer service in the accurate and efficient processing of all charges to promote compliance with the company's highest standards for quality patient care and service.


Shift Hours:

Part Time


Monday - Friday 20 hours per week

Responsibilities & Duties:


  • Obtain proper eligibility for all patients.
  • Obtain Authorizations for all requested services that need verification.
  • Work all tasks related to eligibility, coordination of benefits and authorizations.
  • Process returned mail by contacting patients by phone to verify and update demographic information.
  • Special Projects
  • Keep a record of Eligibility/COB tasks to inform supervisor of RTS not being run, or a problem result not being addressed.
  • Billing task monitoring, resolution, and follow up

Requirements:


Minimum Qualifications:


  • High School diploma.
  • Minimum 1year related medical office experience; medical claims data entry experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical insurance procedures and policies.
  • Basic arithmetic and money calculating skills.
  • Excellent oral communication skills with ability to hear and to speak Standard English clearly and concisely.
  • Excellent written communication skills with ability to read, write and spell Standard English clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to interact effectively with culturally diverse employees and external customer population.
  • Ability to convey a positive attitude and project a professional image.
  • Ability to remain flexible.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Requires prolonged periods of sitting and intermittent standing. Must be able to lift approximately 10 1bs.
