Duties:


  • You will be responsible for security measures, equipment and requirements for physical security, crime prevention, antiterrorism and force protection.
  • You will provide system administration and management of the Marine Corps Electronic Security System (MCESS); scheduling and conducting required testing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • You will conduct, review and approve physical security surveys and crime prevention surveys, facility design plans, drawings, diagrams and other work completed by physical security specialists.
  • You will supervise and maintain Lost and Found Program; review security waivers and exception requests
  • You will conduct physical security education training programs.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government emergency vehicle operator's license and an explosives driver's license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR

Qualifications:


  • Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following:
planning, administering and managing a physical security program; enhancing security and crime prevention posture of installation and administering and managing the physical security system administration


Education:

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Ph.
D. or equivalent doctoral degree
- or_

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
_or_

LL.M., if related

You are required to complete one of the following training courses/certifications within 12 months of hire: U.S. Army Conventional Physical Security Course; Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Physical Security Course; ASIS International Physical Security Professional Certification or Security Professional Education Development (SPeD); Physical Security Certification (PSC), if not accomplished prior to hire

A BQ military spouse possesses knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies comparable to others who meet the competitive referral criteria for the specific position.

PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ).

To receive priority consideration, the FPL must be the same grade level or equivalent of the retained grade or the grade held immediately prior to separation.
