Travel management and seminar coordination - Rolla, United States - Horizon Ventures
Description
The Max Planck Society is one of the leading research organizations in Europe. We offer challenging tasks with a high degree of personal responsibility and room for creativity in research laboratories, workshops, libraries, and administration.
The Max Planck Institute for Plant Breeding Research in Cologne conducts basic research on plants using a wide range of methods, including molecular genetics, genomics, imaging techniques, computational biology, and biochemistry. Our goal is to gain a deep and detailed understanding of plant biology in order to improve conventional breeding methods and develop environmentally friendly plant protection strategies for crops. We focus on the evolution of plants, their genetic blueprint, their development, and their interactions with the environment and microorganisms. For example, how does the plant immune system respond to pests? How does the timing of flowering depend on changing day lengths? How does the genetic variability of crops affect their adaptation to specific environmental influences? Plant biologists search for the molecular basis of natural diversity in the laboratory, on the computer, in the greenhouse, or in the natural environment, providing innovative contributions to plant breeding.
