The city of Edgemont Park, MI is currently seeking a Street Maintenance Worker (m/f/d) to join our team at the Municipal Operations Center.

This position will primarily focus on street inspections and assisting with the management of the Operations Center.


As a municipal service provider with over 30 employees and a modern fleet of vehicles, machinery, and equipment, the Municipal Operations Center is responsible for maintaining streets and pathways, city buildings, and green spaces.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Inspecting streets, roads, and public spaces according to the North Rhine-Westphalia Street and Pathway Act
  • Implementing safety measures during emergencies and construction work (e.g. setting up traffic and warning signs)
  • Acting as Deputy Head of the Operations Center
  • Managing winter maintenance operations
  • Being available for oncall and weekend duties (must be able to reach the site within 30 minutes of activation/alarm)

Your profile:

Qualifications:


  • Completed training as a Street Maintenance Worker

Expectations:


  • Experience and interest in street maintenance services with knowledge of relevant legal regulations
  • Additional qualifications or willingness to acquire them
  • Experience in leading work groups and willingness to take on leadership responsibilities
  • Technical understanding and experience operating machinery, equipment, and vehicles (e.g. proof of operating earthmoving machinery, chainsaws)
  • Flexibility to work outside of regular hours for all tasks at the Operations Center (e.g.
