Our Community Assistants are a vital role within The Lorenzo Student Housing Community.

As our Community Assistants, they represent The Lorenzo brand within property events and other outreach efforts within the neighboring Student Life Community.

Our property is open year round and allows our Community Assistants the opportunity year round in an environment that offers creativity and challenge.

This position is a seasonal role.


JOB SUMMARY:
Community Assistants provide our Student Housing Community with services which create an engaging environment conducive to academic and personal success by performing the following duties:

  • Responsible for completing various marketing and outreach tasks during events intended to raise awareness about the community and increase the community's occupancy.
  • Develop a sense of community
  • Plan, attend, document and evaluate community wide social, recreational, and educational events with other Coordinators
  • Encourage residents to attend and/or participate in community and university sponsored events
  • Circulate information through bulletins boards, flyers, newsletters and other publicly
  • Understand, support, abide by, and enforce the community lease policies while providing unparalleled customer service and respect for residents
  • As needed assists with planning activities and tasks related to events and outreach
  • Complete set up and break down during events including completing tasks such as clean up, storage of event supplies.
  • Provides a final debrief on the success of the events.
  • Circulates the community and various school campuses and related student life offices with the intent of raising awareness about leasing events, renewal events or other community awareness activities.
  • Know the appropriate campus and community offices and resources for student referrals

Our Community Assistants have the following requirements:
Regular and physical attendance

Availability to work 20+ hours a week including weekends

Availability to work USC events as scheduled


Special Events:
The Lorenzo hosts events both onsite and at offsite locations.

During these events our Community Assistants are expected to set up booths, tents, promotional tables or simple greet guests and interact with the event participants.

Events may be scheduled during the weekends and may require late shifts on occasion.


Resident Annual Move In and Move Out (Turn): Between July and September 1st, our community experiences a massive move out and move in of residents. During this period of time, we have all hands on deck. Our Community Assistants may be called upon to work 40 hours a week or more.


Salary Range:
$16.50-$17.00 per hour.
