You Never get a Second chance to make a First Impression

You Never get a Second chance to make a First Impression

772a32dd.jpg

I have heard from many of my leaders that a First Impression in one of the most important things you have in Marketing. Perhaps the simplest example of the application of this rule involves your image or appearance.

You may not realize it but when you first meet a person, he or she makes a judgment about you in approximately four seconds, and their judgment is finalized largely within 30 seconds of the initial contact. Your clothes are responsible for 95 percent of the first impression that you make on someone because, in most instances, your clothes cover 95 percent of your body. Your grooming, your hair style and the other ways you can determine your appearance from the neck up also exert an inordinate influence on the way that you are perceived, on your ethos with someone. Your accessories, such as purse or briefcase, watch, tie, rings, pens and other elements, all make a statement that will or will not help to put you in a position to influence someone.

Everything contributing to the way you look on the outside is important. If itā€™s not helping you, itā€™s hurting you. While you cannot control your physical features, you have total control over your dress and grooming.Ā  People will judge just on this.Ā

Here is a interesting story for you.Ā  An associate of mine who is very wealthy was one day doing a lot of chores while helping his friends outdoors.Ā  He was in his dirtiest clothes, and smelled terrible.Ā  He did not have time to shower or change, and needed to go to his bank.Ā  When he arrived, they would not allow him inside the building because of his appearance. The bank assumed that he was lying about being a client.Ā  The next day, he cleaned himself up and put himself into his most expensive suit and walked into the same bank with ease.Ā  The same person did not realize he was the man from the day before.Ā  My friend withdrew half his money from that bank and deposited into bank across the street because of their rudeness.

Your Website can only make one First Impression. Your website is your image to people you canā€™t meet on the other side of the world.Ā  My personal blog use to be a dark color and I noticed that I had it a high bounce rate.Ā  I change the look of my website to have vibrate colors and my bounce rate decreased and my returning viewers increased. Ā I also took away the image I choose and put a picture of me.

I didnā€™t change my content. I only changed the site's image.Ā  I realized that I had a bad first impression.Ā  There are over a billion websites on the Internet to compete with, so I need to have a great first impression.Ā  ā€œAsk yourself, have you even spend for then 4 seconds on a website or even tried to find the same one again, if you werenā€™t impressed with the layout of it?ā€

Now, here are two things you can do immediately to put these ideas into action:

  • Take complete control over every detail of your Websiteā€™s appearance and grooming. Resolve to look like a powerful, influential site in all your business activities.
  • Study other siteā€™s fashion and structure so you know exactly what to look for in your line of business.Ā  Read a book, take a seminar or even hire an image consultant. Small changes in your appearance can change your life. My website is a for marketing energy, so I decided to pay to have professionals design it. This is my site, CLICK HERE

These principles apply to you and to your site.Ā Everything you do or donā€™t do either adds to or takes away from your credibility and your capability to influence someone. Ralph Waldo Emerson said, in essence, that what you are shouts at me so loudly, I cannot hear a word you are saying.
