Wrinkles, Relationships, and 2020
Ever tried to iron a blouse or shirt and then somehow you ironed a wrinkle into your blouse or shirt?
You know. The kind that no matter how much you spray it or iron over it, it’s like there now staring back at you, right?
And it just happens to be on the front of your blouse or shirt.
You’re like WTF?
You hold up your blouse or shirt and it looks great except you keep staring at that dang wrinkle.
You then put your blouse or shirt on and look at yourself in the bathroom mirror.
You look good but you wish-to-god that dang wrinkle wasn’t there.
Wrinkles & Relationships:
Often times in your relationships with others be it your spouse, friend, family member, or a colleague you will experience these wrinkles in the fabric of your relationship.
They may have inadvertently created a wrinkle or two with you, and you likewise with them.
These “wrinkles” can unfortunately take your attention off what is really important.
Which is the heart and soul of the entire fabric of the person.
The problem with wrinkles is they absorb attention and subsequently put you out of communication with that person.
See?
If you want to see how this might apply, just look around at all the people you’re in communication with and see if your attention sticks on any particular person.
You know. Like when you’re looking at yourself in the bathroom mirror in your newly ironed blouse or shirt.
When you think of this person, does your attention stick just a tad on the wrinkle in your relationship?
Well, to be honest a wrinkle is a trap.
Yep.
They trap your attention to some degree, don't they?
Like when you see wrinkles on your face.
It takes attention off of your beautiful face or handsome mug.
Ever had someone comment on how many wrinkles you have?
Exactly.
They don’t see them.
They see you.
And this wrinkle in your relationship with your friend or colleague?
Well, you could take the necessary steps to get in communication with them and iron them out.
Or you could admire the whole damn blouse or shirt.
Wrinkles and all.
Because really you couldn’t have a single wrinkle unless you first loved that entire blouse or shirt.
Here’s to a great 2020 and granting beingness to the whole dang outfit…
Best,
Dave
