John thanks for your question on the two maxims. I wanted to take some time and think about this as your question actually makes one think. Specifically I neither agree or disagree with either. They both have meaning and use words to convey something. It is interesting though that in a world that is gravitating towards in some respects a global information society, the power of words is changing the world as we know it. Words are and can be used for good and bad purposes. So here goes: 1. I have used both in my life, and their use has been both situationally specific and or used as a general coceptual reference. It depends. 2. Sometimes context (and I use that word loosely) may be in order as it is not always a clear and distinct issue in trying to ascertain an answer to each of the two you reference. 3. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. So with my five bullets in mind i think that what I really wanted to convey was that in a world using social media and other means of communicating with each other, we have lost some of the essence of conversation in our use of words and language. Not sure if this answered your question or not, but it does bring up a great venue for discussion. Thank you Vincent Andrew and thank you for sharing it. In a world of digital gadgetry and the aloofness of social media, we all need to be reminded every once in awhile and more importantly remind our youth that words do matter. Something that all too often goes ignored in the world of texting, blogging and the anonymity behind the Thing of Things (ToT). All the best on your journey.

Thank you Tausif. I feign no expertise in the quest for enlightenment, but as I navigate my journey I will do what I can to gain insight and mindfulness in using the power and influence of words as part of an ongoing search and pathway for my own "awakening."
