Today is your day to be

Today is your day to be

Today you stand at the crossroad between the past and the future. Today is the only time you have to act. Today is your opportunity to be. What are you doing with it?

Yesterday is a list of days that have lead you to where you are. Yesterday is gone, a simple memory that influences today but it no longer caries any action. Tomorrow is a hope, not yet here, not yet real, not yet available. You can do nothing with tomorrow. You only wait for it.

Today is your day to act. Today is your chance to move and be. What are you doing with it? I only ask because today I can. Today I get to ask the questions that I find interesting. Today I get to offer a smile and encourage those around me. Today I get to act.

True today might not be perfect, in fact it might be full of trials and frustrations but today I get to address those situations. I can only plan for tomorrow and lament yesterday. But today I get to move and be.

The old saying “never put off for tomorrow what you should have done yesterday” is very true. If we continually put off for tomorrow what we could do today at what point do we act and move and do? Today is our opportunity to effect our lives and bless those around us. Today is our chance to make a difference.

Plan for tomorrow, prepare for the future but don't take today for granted. Today is the only time we have to actually make a difference.

Blessings

Ken Boddie you are accurate as always. Each day only contains the time of a single day regardless of what we might want to accomplish. And while it indeed took years to build Rome I believe it took much fewer to destroy it. By that I only mean that plans must also be executed not just laid out. I tend to plan then figure I have accomplished the goal.

Great kick up the backside, Greg, for those who are prone to procrastinate and who continually follow the adage, “Why do today, what you can put off till tomorrow?” For the busy planner and organiser, however, tomorrow and the next day, week, month, etc must be assumed as coming, “as sure as a dunny smells on a hot day”. We can’t do everything today or even this minute, and must have some investment in the belief that the sun will shine on our parade tomorrow, tomorrow and tomorrow, whether or not it creeps at a petty pace, rushes past us like an express train, or has us snuffed out before dawn’s early rise. I guess the answer is having balance between what can realistically be achieved today with the time WE make available, and offsetting till later, in the belief that we’ll be around to follow through. Rome wasn’t built in a day. 🤗
