Time Decides

Time Decides

“I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times.

But that is not for them to decide.

All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us” J.R.R. Tolkien

“Who are you?" the little boy asked the voice.
"I am time," the voice replied.
"Who is time?" he curiously inquired.
I am the present which comes to bless you.
I am the future which comes to reward you.”
- Matshona Dhliwayo

 “Time decides”

As babes we have so little cares

As children we take steps & dares

As teens we individuate

Thinking we control our fate ;~)

As adults, choices fly like darts

We often act without our hearts

At times not THINK or reason with our head

At times .. consequences follow that we dread

At times it’s hard to STOP & think things through

One day we look back .. those decisions to rue

How often we feel rushed through life

We deal with struggles, pain & STRIFE

We wish we’d paused .. to THINK .. to know

Even better .. to LEARN and to GROW

In truth, we harvest what we sow

Time goes by and time won’t slow

And years will fly and years will go

Beauty and memories in TIME will fade

Even though we wish they had stayed

We can’t halt time but we can “seize the day”

Don’t allow REGRET to stand in your way

 In our LIFE-journey ..

GRACE & Peace are always near

But if our focus is wrong .. so is FEAR

“Fix your eyes” not on the temporary but on “what is unseen”

Our time on earth is leading us into eternity. Savor each day between

 Time that was WASTED .. is time misspent

Will regret & tears help us repent?

LOVE & Grace we don’t want to lose

But should we ignore or fail to choose

.. Time decides ..

“In our end is our beginning;
in our time, infinity;
In our doubt there is believing;
in our life, eternity,
In our death, a resurrection;
at the last, a victory,
Unrevealed until its season,
Something God alone can see.”

- Hymn of promise

"The time will come when temporal shall cease.
This time revolving wheel shall rest in peace:
No summer then shall glow, nor winter freeze;
Everything shall be to come … all that’s past is past,
A new age … an eternal now shall ever last." - Petrarch

September 23rd 2020

In honor of the One Who holds our days & times in His able Hands.

This added and special mention to John Rylance for this rich comment:

“Our lifetime is a continuum of time, in which our lifespan has three parts: our past which increases in timespan, our future which has an unknown timescale. We know how long our past is, but never the extent of our future. The present is the stepping stones between past and present.” ~ John Rylance

T S Elliot writes in Burnt Norton.
“Time present and time past
Are both perhaps present in time future
And time future contained in time past
If all time is eternally present
All time is unredeemable”

John Rylance I was looking for a quote today in my "pearl-holder" and happened upon your rich comment to this post (which I added with special mention of you ;~) ... I intended to do right away but then got sidetracked ... “Our lifetime is a continuum of time, in which our lifespan has three parts: our past which increases in timespan, our future which has an unknown timescale. We know how long our past is, but never the extent of our future. The present is the stepping stones between past and present.” ~ John Rylance T S Elliot writes in Burnt Norton. “Time present and time past Are both perhaps present in time future And time future contained in time past If all time is eternally present All time is unredeemable” (Jon Rylance comment in my poem

John Rylance I began on LI at its inception Was very active Then they changed their platform & years of activity were GONE Having found beBee in 2019 ... I fell in love with many bees Felt the conversations were - are more authentic When a prominent and most engaging Ambassador bee left beBee months ago ... I returned to keep up the "bee-banter" And have connected with some interesting people Do find that it is a TINY % of people who earnestly engage ... thoughtfully respond Many on both platforms are seeking traffic - likes - shares - followers (which is understandable) Many bees are on LI But it seems unfair to expect them to comment both places How's your poetry coming?

Further on me and LinkedIn, which you raised on Liesbeth's post. Severalyears I was on LinkedIn, but decided at that moment in time it was not for me. So transfered to the Hives. So far I haven't felt the need to return, but you never know. I do think about doing so every so often. Hope this answers your curiosity.

John Rylance You are a very thought-FULL man John I love those time phrases and the added: TIME IS THE GREAT HEALER A few months ago I captured a piece of your wisdom (but I did not note in which post) ... it belongs here: “Our lifetime is a continuum of time, in which our lifespan has three parts our past which increases in time span, our future which has an unknown time-scale. We know how long our past is, but never the extent of our future. The present is the stepping stones between past and present.” ~ John Rylance ... this bee continues to encourage your writing ...

A great quote. What it prompted me to think is how the word time or rather time phrases rule our lives. Time for bed, take our medicine, go to work/school etc. No time for that Ahead of his time Take a time out Dont waste your time Your time has come All these phrases and many more shape our daily lives. The best we can hope for ourselves and others is to have the TIME OF OUR LIVES every once in a while We all look forward to time hopefully times to celebrate. Cheers everyone.

Renee Iseli - Smits Warmest greetings and thank you for reading .. and your timely reference ;~) I took the time to read about The Power of Now ... we are indeed "fearfully & wonderfully made" ... very complex are human beings ... Well-being is a quest ... I like how Tolle differentiates "outer purpose" "inner purpose" ... how complex is the mind and then consciousness even more “The best indicator of your level of consciousness is how you deal with life's challenges when they come. Through those challenges, an already unconscious person tends to become more deeply unconscious, and a conscious person more intensely conscious. You can use a challenge to awaken you, or you can allow it to pull you into even deeper sleep. The dream of ordinary unconsciousness then turns into a nightmare.” ― Eckhart Tolle, The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment

John Rylance You are a brilliant bee ;~) ... I loved "It's all about timing" ... have tucked it in my "pearl-holder" of quotes for future reference. ... I am working on a post to follow this poem: "Time decides" (knowing how limited time is for bees ... I wanted to present the poem first) "Its all about timing. Time decides like a time-bomb hidden in a time-capsule with a time frame that’s all time-consuming with a built in time-lapse before a timely, time-piece reaches time-off in a time-out which lets the time-server flick the time-switch and catapult us all into a time-warp.” ~John Rylance Multiplied thanks for the quote from TS Elliot's Burnt Norton ... I was not familiar with it ... I share here 2 more of the Quartet "Burnt Norton" Yet the enchainment of past and future Woven in the weakness of the changing body, Protects mankind from heaven and damnation Which flesh cannot endure. Time past and time future Allow but a little consciousness. Sudden in a shaft of sunlight Even while the dust moves There rises the hidden laughter Of children in the foliage Quick now, here, now, always— Ridiculous the waste sad time Stretching before and after. "Burnt Norton" is the first poem of T. S. Eliot ... emphasizes the need of the individual to focus on the present moment and to know that there is a universal order. ... By understanding the nature of time and the order of the universe, mankind is able to recognize God and seek redemption.

Its all about timing. Time decides like a time bomb hidden in a time capsule with a time frame thats all time consuming with a built in time lapse before a timely timepiece reaches time off in a timeout which lets the time server flick the time switch and catapult us all into a time warp. As T S Elliot writes in Burnt Norton.
