The Power of the Hive

I want to start with a story:

A man was driving his car down a dirt road through a open country town. The sun got in his eyes and caused him drive off into a ditch. Luckily a farmer on cart pulled by one horse, saw him and said, "Don't Worry, my horses and I can help you out of that hole."

The farmer unlatch his cart from his horse and latch the horse onto the front on the automobile. 

The farmer then yell out, "Jumper are you ready? Coco are you ready? Hunter are you ready?", yet the horse just stood still. He then yelled, "Maximus are you ready, let's pull."  The horse pull hard, and aggressively until the car was back on the road. 

The driver then went to thank the farmer for his help and asked him, "Why did you keep calling out wrong names to your horse?"

The farmer replied, "Well, Maximus is blind. If he even realized that he was working only, he wouldn't work at all?"

THE IMPORTANCE OF A TEAM

Most people don't like being only, if they don't want to admit it. Even those gurus like to have someone to run with. They just want someone to run at their speed.

Have you ever felt that you are alone while working online? Or making your looking for a group that can help you with whatever you are doing online. That is one reason beBee is such a great site. The platform doesn't just give you the illusion of a team like with the story of the horse. You don't have to be a blind horse pulling all of your own weight. Teamwork is an activity that many people try to avoid in the workplace. Yet, here in beBee we do this because we want to. The common goal of the team or goal is not each or our personal goals, yet helping each of us reach our personal goals. The more people I help reach their goals, the closer I will be to reaching mine.

Increased efficiency

When working in a team, you are working towards a common goal or set of objectives. The whole process of your work becomes more efficient, for example if there is a problem faced along the way there are more ‘hands on deck’ to help solve the issue. Similarly, having multiple team members in the Hive allows you to get the work done faster with shared responsibilities. Idea generation  

One of the greatest benefits of working in a team is the inspiration and ideas that can result from team discussions. When running ideas by one and other, there is a lot more scope for creativity in comparison to working on a project alone. In an effective team environment, us bees feel confident in suggesting their ideas. I see this in our comments. When working autonomously and having a direct responsibility for ideas, people tend to present the safer option to their managers. However, while in the Hive the notion of suggesting creative and unique ideas is welcomed. A learning experience  

As mentioned above, teamwork is important in the workplace as it brings people together from different backgrounds and levels of experience. This is the same for this platform with beBee. This may be conscious learning during a video, or learning which occurs without you even realising whilst reading a buzz written by a follow bee. I believe that that you can learn from someone else’s knowledge which allows your own skills and capabilities to grow. This is why books and audio's are so important. beBee can be a great source of these. This can help improve our attitudes making win-win situation for us and the bee who made the content.

Enhanced communication

Communication is key to the success of many projects – so why not engage in an activity that can help enhance your communication skills? Teamwork activities such as meeting together to discuss ideas or collaborating information to contribute to a project require both verbal and written communication skills. Working regularly in this capacity will allow you develop both your own skills as well as those who are in your team. Teamwork also facilitates an open discussion which allows each team member to be adequately informed about the project. Share the workload

When working in a team towards a common goal, the workload is shared among all team members.
