The Golden Rule of Leadership

Integrity remains one of the top attributes of a great leader. It is not another business cliché you use in communications or motivational poster you display in the office. You must live it and commit to its golden rule: doing the right thing for the right reason, and regardless of the circumstances. Not the easiest principle. Choosing the right decision, regardless of the consequence, is the hallmark of integrity in leadership. There are many qualities leaders can lack, but integrity is not one of them. Lacking integrity ultimately results in long-term and unrepairable damages. Because people possess the conscious ability to differentiate right from wrong, they will naturally be attracted to those they can trust. Those who are genuine and truthful. Hence, integrity is deeply interconnected to trust. Leaders who live and lead with integrity genuinely foster trusted relationships with those they work with, depend on and serve. They relentlessly lead by example and instill the desired confidence to sustain authenticity and commitment.
