The buzzing bee

Stepping out into the yard the grass slightly damp with the morning dew brings a sensory hit to my waking body. The light from a large orb over powers my optic nerves causing my eyes to water and head to twist. The wet cold grass contrasting to the warm sensation of the sun light on my arms. The smell of flowers waft through the yard carried on the wind which is no longer cold but holds a comforting warmth in its gusts. After these senses comes one more, the buzzing of bees out early, already hard at work gathering pollen.
Summer mornings bring with them a whole new reality. No longer cold and searching for a coat or a warm cup of tea to ward off the chill but instead surrounded by the comfort of gentle warmth from air and sun. The sound of buzzing bees eagerly searching for pollen remind me that I too must prepare for work. Buzzing eager bees putting me to shame for starting so late in the day, desiring instead to relax on the porch with a cup of tea and ponder deeper things. Like the color of dawn or the sound of the wind. But that would not produce much, indeed I would fail to reduce my chore list at all. Bees and their work ethic.
So the day starts, a good day by the feel of it. Perhaps bees do have the right of it, up early on this beautiful day permitting its warmth and beauty to inspire effort and ingenuity. Or perhaps another cup of tea is in order, just one more as I consider this important idea of bees and inspiration.
Their they go dancing from one flower to another lingering just long enough to determine if pollen is available. This dance of theirs is fascinating and their work ethic is daunting. Well the second cup is now spent and my excuses with it so off to work I too must go. Joining the bees in the daily struggle to supply the bodies needs.
But as I leave a smile crosses my lips as I remember that it is not only hunger that needs satisfied. Yes summer mornings are a whole new reality. It is true that the bees have the right of it and work must get done but there is more to life than work, there is tea and mornings pondering bees.
Blessings!
