The bliss of ignorance

The bliss of ignorance

aT

I was recently reminded of the reality that there are times that ignorance can be good. When we are unaware of an event or truth we are free from the irritation or concern over the issue. But once we become aware of the situations we are to some degree responsible to reach for a preferable outcome.

While it is very true there are many situations where we have no input or ability to change or influence the outcome but I expect those are fewer than we might believe. In our lives it is easier to ignore a situation than impact it. And as long as we are ignorant of the problem we are truly in bliss.

Please do not hear me say you are responsible for every problem you hear about, but you might want to reach out and touch the ones you can. If we all ignore the problems we see who will bring about a better future? I have sat in many a brain storming session which has produced a number of good to acceptable answers to a few issues but the reality is we had no power to implement any of our solutions.

So I had this thought; if your hand reaches out far enough to touch another strive to ensure that it brings encouragement. A kind word a helping hand or a simple smile can change the perspective of the one you touch. Yes these may never change the problems you know about but they certainly will not make them larger. And if your hand can reach to a problem that touches many, add your influence to bring about a solution that is more than a band aid. If we each do a little, if we each reach out a hand, perhaps the problems won’t seem so large.
