Taking the mystery out of the question

Taking the mystery out of the question

Salvation, just what is it about this idea that is so controversial? While it is true that this word has been linked to religions almost from its inception by itself it simply designates those who are safe from those who are still in danger. Why is that a bad idea?

When the question arises are you saved, what is actually being asked is, “are you safe?” Yes again I understand that there are a lot of nuances that are added to the question depending on who is asking. But the question alone should be at least considered a reasonable question. Are you safe? Are you in danger?

I expect the reasonable reply is safe from what or in danger of what. That is when the problems of religion enters the question. The problem is that in actuality religion has no place in this question. The question is simple are you in danger of spending eternity without hope and love. Regardless of your back ground or what belief system you have that is the fundamental question.

A reasonable follow up question I expect is do you have hope and love now? Do you have purpose or do you simply float in a sea we call life? Salvation is the reality of being safe. Salvation is the reality of knowing that you are secure and always will be.

If you are safe why would you fear the question? If you are not secure in your future why would you reject the question and the possible answer? If in truth you are not secure why would you not seek an answer to the question that would provide security? Again I understand the complexity of religion and the various forms that swirl in the sea we call life. But are you not worth a little complexity?

And just so I can be clear, Jesus did not come to establish a religion He came to bring salvation. He did not come to conquer nations, He came to conquer death. Jesus came to offer hope and love to a world that was and is lost. So let me avoid the religious controversy and simply ask, are you safe? Is your future secure?

If you are not or unsure ask, He always answers.

Blessings
