Tagging or is it Tag, you're it?!
This is going to make me sound like a witch but I need to say it.
I don't mind being tagged on posts that are helping beBee to market their brand.
I don't mind being tagged on a post that has vital information that is more than likely going to go viral.
I don't mind being tagged on a post if it's something you REALLY want me to read because you know my taste well.
I don't mind being tagged on a post if someone is also returning the favor and re-posting my material, Thank you Javier 🐝 beBee Javier 🐝 beBee John White, MBA Milos Djukic Milos Djukic 🐝 Fatima G. Williams . I mentioned these people because they graciously share other's posts more than they promote their own. I know I've left a few of you out (not on purpose), it's late and I have to say, I'm getting tagged by a few more than once a day on a DAILY basis and it's really beginning to annoy me. Sorry, not sorry that I'm being honest.
There are a few people like Franci🐝Eugenia Hoffman Ken Boddie and Paul Walters who also realize I enjoy what they write and I don't like to miss their articles. With that said, they are not tagging me constantly.
I rarely tag others on my posts. I take no issue with people like Gert Scholtz who has been show-casing fellow bee's and their work, he tags them and that's cool, thank you Gert.
I spent a lot of time like many on Social Media and I do have a life outside of it too, so it's not humanly possible for me to read every buzz.
Please, read what I wrote above before you consider tagging me and I would suggest that some of you that tag on a regular basis promote others as much as you are promoting your own buzzes.
I am not going to click on every notification I'm tagged in anymore. I leaf through my timeline and producer, along with hives- if an article catches my attention I will read it and share it. I was responding to all notifications I was tagged in and became overwhelmed because I don't like to let others down. I concluded that it was really stressing me out and actually making me dread opening notifications because of the constant tags.
One last note: Remember when you write daily or more than one article per day and you tag people with each article you are also clogging up their notifications and I've been missing other articles I may want to read or responses to my own articles as well. I just had a response show up on one of my articles from May 1st.. that response just showed up TONIGHT.
One last thought, if your writing is good and you've established yourself, why do you feel the need to tag on a daily basis? Honestly, I'm not trying to be mean or disrespectful, I'm just drained and needed to be honest.
I have a feeling I'm not the only one that feels this way. Some people are truly abusing tagging in my opinion.
Side note, my interests when reading: Real stories whether funny or serious, anything that promotes beBee, health issues, travel stories, wild, yet true stories, I love music, so tag me on videos (that's not a problem), photography, and real life experience stories. I'm sure I left some categories out but those who know me well also know my interests.

I was getting quite a few on my cell until I added them to the auto reject list. Seems to work. Land line, no luck- even with being on the do not call list, it's a waste of time now. I agree, don't mind being tagged at all but there is limit as you pointed out Franci🐝Eugenia Hoffman, beBee Brand Ambassador, thanks for sharing!

They've gone so far as to use numbers with your own area code and first 3 digits to make it appear as if someone is calling from your own town. They use cell phone numbers and numbers that appear as if they are coming from home phones too.

in fact several apps nd technologies exists. Apps that block TMarketers but only after 1st call, now call centers shuffle the outbound phone numbers to fool the apps, non efficient. VOIP servers that host your DID number aka your phone numbers can deny rang of IP of outbound callers. But you have to get rid of your national phone service and buy an IPPBX server to run your own VoIP phone company and telecom units through high speed internet. ISP required no phone service.

I'm surprised phones don't have the technology to decipher by now if we are receiving robo calls or calls from telemarketers. It would be nice to have a special message just for them w/out hearing the phone ring at all... just like going to VM. Hey someone could make big bucks off of that technology if they were able to create it. In the mean time, I like your idea and believe me, I've done it before. It's SO bad before elections! Thanks for your comment Phil.

Glad you found it useful Gloria 🐝 🐾 💫 ☕ (Glo) Ochoa, feel free to use any part of this you desire. Oddly, a few didn't seem to get the notice- still being serial tagged but I've found it easy to ignore since I've written this. Others tag here and there and I realize when certain people do, they have a mission outside of themselves- or they are tagging to help promote someone else's article, that's cool too.

You covered tagging extremely well and I share your sentiments Savvy Raj. I agree, ignoring certain taggers does stop the tagging eventually. I feel guilty ignoring but we shouldn't. Thanks for your well thought out comment!! I will tag on rare occasions (in particular, a live buzz) since those don't seem to get seen too often but even then, I limit my tags to those who are doing live buzzes.

#81 Thank you Yolanda Ávila Márquez. I don't mind being tagged on buzzes that are very relevant- I even liked being tagged when people post music videos. But, to date there are still a few who tag me daily and up to 3 times per day. They need to realize if they are good writers, have an audience there is no reason to serial tag people. Don't get me wrong, there are exceptions and those who know me well, also know it's fine to tag me because they write many articles that help to promote beBee. I don't want people to feel they can never tag me. I hope that made sense? Thanks for reading this

Thank you so much for your wise comment Rick Stoneking Sr. I actually learned a few new things from your comment. I never heard of link farms and this is good to know. I completely agree with you regarding the proper use of hashtags. I had a good laugh when I read if you are sharing an article about the space station, you don't want to use a hashtag like #barbiedolls, good one! Your comment would make a great buzz. I really appreciate all the time you put into the comment along with the info.

Hi Ali 🐝 Anani, Brand Ambassador @beBee, I fully agree with you. No one should feel pressure to respond if they can't relate, don't have time or just have no interest in a buzz. I take no offense if people don't share my interests. I like a lot of what you write. I read most of you buzzes, sometimes I'm just at loss for words, literally. I hope you had a good time in Turkey. That's the best approach Renée 🐝 Cormier. We all have different tastes in what is is we enjoy reading. When I write about Anxiety Disorder I understand there will be many who have no interest in the topic or just can't relate to it and I take no offense with that as one example. There is nothing wrong with tagging for specific reasons, I think we all do that too :) Thanks!

Hi Deb 🐝 Helfrich, I have no desire to DM people that are incessant taggers who happen to be few. I'm just going to stick with what I'm doing now and delete the notifications. Too many times tone gets lost when expressing something online- I'm sure it's been lost in my message depending on who reads it. I'm hoping we can see who likes our material at some point too, I agree it would make it much easier for affinity purposes. Also the shares, it will show some names but sometimes it may say "So and so and 3 other people shared your buzz in... " eg. I think when the new platform rolls out, we may see some of these changes.

Great true story Louise Smith and you are proof that other Social platforms do compliment one another as Matt, John and Javier state. You've learned how to use Social Media well in just a few years! I can understand why as a teacher many like yourself would not want SM Profiles. How sad that some got stalked and had to leave the State, scary! I'm glad you were able to reconnect with others on LI and enjoy beBee!! :)) Thanks for sharing

" You're silly in a fun way." Thank you (I think?) It's part of a long term survival strategy that seems to work. I used to speak off the cuff with no prep at staff meetings of 150 people and make them laugh - so they remembered what I said. I wasn't sure about the strategy online though. I miss all the visual and audio info from f2f communication. You wrote a very assertive buzz. I think you could apologise less. I am scared to TAG you from now on. (JJ) (Just Joking)

When I worked in the ED Office writing a program for teaching Japanese online for high school teachers, our system would often go down. Sometimes the back up drive would go down too. After the first time, I made sure I had everything saved on my work hard drive, a disc/flash drive and my home computer and kept them updated. My job was very time consuming and I did not want to have to redo any of it again.

Yes originally that was what my hive NOW was for. But it changed to a different function. I remember you set up your own Paul's Reading List (This is where I, Paul, will post things that I want to hold for later reading, and for later re-reading or later reference, or JUST...) I decided that I didn't really want other bees to see what I was or was going to read. Not paranoia just an uncomfortable feeling. The same reason I didn't have FB. I guess having been a high school teacher for 30 years I have a highly developed sense of self protection ! I had to maintain a boundary between myself and my students who were totally naive about this. Also I had 2 great colleagues that were seriously stalked and left teaching and the State as a result. I never had time for SM. I only started on LI in 2015 where I met you and many others you know well. For the first time, it felt very strange trying to get to know people online. And then you (plural from LI) all went to bB (except perhaps @Trent Selbrede - yes still not here) So I found some courage and in 2016 tried bB too. It was so much easier. Bees were more friendly. Atmosphere was more positive. I had a ready made group of bees. The topics of buzzes were so much more interesting than LI. Bees interacted with each other. I never got one reply from an Influencer on LI. I decided they had ghost writers and employed assistants to run their posts. I think you can imagine the feeling I had, when Javier or Juan found my buzz relevant, commented and shared it ! Then funnily this year, I went on to Twitter for the first time. So I reconnected with some previous LI connections. I started to read their work on LI again. Even more bizarre, people I followed but was not connected to on LI (for obvious and various reasons) but I was on bB, I started to connect with them on LI too! NOW I can't imagine not having bB ! Well said and I think the bottom line is this: In giving we receive. I can say with an honest heart that I share because I love what I read and I truly love to see others succeed and it's fun to share articles/buzzes that others may find pleasure in as well. You wrote: "Let's recall that many of us are on multiple social media sites where others may tag us too." Also true and we have a life outside of Social Media as well. I like the idea of just deleting the notification and moving on. I just began doing that last night after it dawned on me that I was feeling used. With that said, please friends know that 99% of you do not fall into this category, yourself included David who is always generous with sharing and offering help to so many. Thank you!

Don't you just hate that ! It's happened to me too. I tried all kinds of searching on bB without success. In the end in great despair, I googled the name of the buzz and found it. Another time, I googled the name of the bee with the best attempt at spelling. Yet another time I remembered seeing a post from the phantom person on another bee's buzz and found them that way. Yet another time I remembered which hive it was posted to and searched through and found it. I try to remember to click Relevant on buzzes I want to read and then they are in the Buzz section under my Profile. Or if I am really desperate, I will message another bee whom I think might know !

I keep windows open too which just reminded me Yogesh Sukal, someone tagged me a few days ago and I had his buzz open. My PC decided to reboot on it's own and I lost the page. I can't remember how to spell his name so I lost it. I hope he doesn't think he was a target of this post. I don't want anyone to take this personally. Yes, if it's a beBee related post- I really appreciate the tag because it's easy to miss posts on here now that the network has grown. I have found posts on Facebook that John, Jan, Javier and Matt post. If I didn't see them on Facebook, I would have missed the posts all together. I'm always happy to find those and share away. Again, I love sharing non-marketing posts too because beBee does have many great writers. Occasional tagging is Ok with me. Even if someone writes just once a week and wants me to read their article thats ok... I don't feel overwhelmed because they aren't tagging me on a daily basis.
Lisa Gallagher

Donna-Luisa Eversley, you tag and share on an equal basis my friend. I think that's what it boils down to for me (the part that irritates me more) are those who tag every day yet aren't sharing other's material or making many comments on others material as well. I know some may read my comments on this thread and feel I'm referring to myself RE: material but I'm not. I have been fortunate to have wonderful people like you and MANY others who share my material generously and I can't thank you and everyone enough. It actually perplexes me as to why some people serial tag others daily when they are established on beBee. Again, there is nothing wrong with tagging and I keep reiterating this for others that read my comments, I don't mind being tagged just not tagged in every darn article daily. There are many who do not write every day and they will tag some of us and there is nothing wrong with that either. Keep up the good work Donna, you have been a roll with your writing! :))

Many of us tag here and there and I don't have a problem with that. Last night I finally became overwhelmed by the same people's notifications who tag me every single day and more than once a day. I don't want people to feel they can't tag me at all, just as you mentioned- if you find it's something that you think will interest me you tag me and that's totally OKAY!

BeBeers are so very generous, I find that I feel I could never give as much as I get. I know--this is my problem. I do the best I can to give back. I have favorites--oops--my secret is out. There are people I wish would tag me so I do not miss what they put out because we are not on at the same time. That little orange globe serves to fill something like the notification function on LI. I sometimes groan when I see so many notifications, but feel that is my problem. Remember--psychologist here. But, as I said, tagging is time-consuming and tedious, so it is probably wrong for me to expect it from that viewpoint alone. I so wish we had some sort of auto-notification system that we might be able to use to target our favorite's work. I'd love it if LI still notified us. Would probably also make all this discussion of tagging moot. Just a thought--is this why LI dropped notifications?

Exactly, we only have so much time in a day and I know all of us who care about beBee have been happily promoting beBee and articles we find relevant on a fairly regular basis. I use Pauls MyTweetPack.com app and its rare I add my own buzzes to that as well. My goal is to promote beBee. I also share many articles that pertain to business or technology eg, because I know many people benefit from article's like that. We all tag on occasion but its not fair to others if some are tagging people incessantly, especially if they aren't new to beBee.

I think I would want to read every buzz of my followers and I wish I had that many hours in a day but God's given me just a couple of hours in a day and I don't want to miss the one's I think I should be reading sometimes even I feel tags lose their relevance.
