Step by Step Guide on How to Use the New Live Buzz (Video) Feature on beBee

Since the launch of beBee's epic new feature Live Buzz, I've been getting a lot of questions about how to use it. In this post, I will share with you step by step instructions on to do a live buzz and even a few tips of what type of content to go live with.

Video content is extremely popular online and early adopters of this feature are seeing lots of engagement on their live buzzes. It's a great way to reach your followers in a new fun way! 

I'm also finding it to be a great way to practice my public speaking and presentation skills. What other way can you this type practice for live speaking? With Live Buzz you can get the reps you need in front of a live audience so that you nail your next speaking engagement.

Live buzzes give you the opportunity to broadcast to your followers for up to 15 minutes at a time. The Live Buzz feature is compatible with all mobile devices with Android 5.0 and above and for iOS 8.0 and above.

Keep in mind that in order to stream video you must have a strong 4G signal on your phone.

The very first step to getting started with Live Buzz is to download the beBee mobile app on your smartphone. For iOS you will go to the App store. For Android phones go to the Google Play Store. Once you're there, just do a search for "beBee." The latest version of our app will pop up. Install it on your phone.

Once you have the app on your phone, you are ready to record your first live buzz! Here are the steps to follow:

Step 1: Go to the beBee App on Your phone and Open it.

This will bring you to your home screen. Everything should look very familiar as beBee was built with a mobile first mindset. In the bottom right hand corner you will see a "plus sign." Click on it.

Step 2: Select "Live Buzz"

Once you reach this point, you should have figured out what you are going to say because you are well on your way to being live on beBee. Just click on the "Live Buzz" icon.

Step 3: Enter a Title and Description

The more creative and interesting you make your title and description of the Live Buzz will increase the engagement from your followers and beyond.

Step 4: Select Your Hives

Again, this should look very familiar to you. Just select the three hives that you would like to target with your buzz and hit the play icon in the upper right hand corner. GET READY!

Step 5: Just Hit the Red Dot

Once you hit the red dot, a three second count down will begin.  3...2...1 and you're LIVE!

At first, I thought three seconds wasn't long enough. I thought about emailing Javier and Federico to tell the them I needed more time! But then I thought about it. 

Doing a live buzz is kind of like jumping off the diving board at the pool. You get in your mind what you're going to do before you get up there. Then, you just kind of run and jump in and do your thing. You don't run to the edge of the diving board and then stop and wait for ten or twenty seconds! 

Come on, just dive in!

Here are some ideas for content for live buzzes:

1) Represent Your Hood

That's right, it's time to represent! Show off you city, town, neighborhood, country, and local flare. We all love the global reach of this platform. Give a taste of where you live, work, and play. The world is a beautiful place and there is so much to see out there. 

2) Talk Business

Tell us about your company. What makes it unique? Show us the behind the scenes of where you work.

3) Do an Interview with Someone of Interest

4) Food Porn

Eating someplace special? Show us what type of food you're eating, and the atmosphere of your favorite restaurant.

5) Give a How to Video

6) Blow your Stack About What's Pissing You Off

Be careful with this one as you don't want to offend anyone. However, we all know that if you have a legitimate gripe and present it in a way that is fair, it can create a viral conversation.

7) Ask for Instant Feedback on an Idea

8) Music Lovers Give us a Live Look

Going to a cool concert? There are many music lovers on beBee and several hives to share to.

A Couple More Tips:

1) Use a Call to Action

If you are doing a live buzz for business, I recommend having a call to action some where in the post. Ask your followers to visit your website, share your buzz, follow you on Twitter, or alert them of an upcoming important blog post or alert them of an upcoming appearance in the media. Let them know where they can buy your product, get more information, or sign up for an upcoming webinar, etc.

2) Share it on Your Other Social Media Pages

You can easily share your live buzzes on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. Sharing your buzz on you other social media pages will increase your viewership.

Thanks for overview John John White, MBA. This definitely offers some interesting options when you are on the go with your phone. Is this option also going to be offered with a laptop with a camera? I really like where the beBee hive is going !!
