Standing in the moon light

Standing in the moon light

When was the last time you stood in the moon light? We all know what it means to be busy to run form morning to night just to start over again. As we have climbed the ladder of our company or started our own company each of us has put in our time. Or as many will proclaim are still doing so. But in our struggle to succeed have we taken the time to stand in the moon light.

Standing in the moon light is taking time to enjoy time with those who matter to us. Making sure you have dinner with your spouse or best friend. Are you taking time to enjoy what you have? I only ask because as we strive to climb the ladder or obtain our success it can become very easy to forget what we have.

Do I know what I am talking about you might ask, yes. After I stopped being an engineer I spent 12 years as a blacksmith while returning to school and working as an associate pastor. During those 12 years it was easy to forget just why I was doing it all. I got lost in study and work, going from one task to the next. Trust me when I say, stand in the moon light. Any goal without a solid reason is not going to satisfy you when you obtain it. And any loss you incur while reaching your goal will only be magnified.

Does it take work to succeed, yes! But life is not just about future success it is also about living in the now and enjoying what you have accomplished or what you have, especially people. Standing in the moonlight is a time to pause not stop, a time to reflect and embrace. Standing in the moon light reminds us why we struggle, why we put in the long hours, it reminds us to enjoy the now.

So next time you ask yourself why you are doing what you do, especially if you never have, stand in the moon light and remember.

Blessings
