Small Changes Are What Matter

Small Changes Are What Matter

244ffbcf.jpg

I usually post something about the environment when I have time to go online. Today when I saw the emails from the sites I subscribe to all I saw was negativity. From what I can see there are environmental groups that want to blame certain corporations for everything going wrong with the environment.

While what big business is doing does contribute to the problem, it’s easy to forget they’ve been doing things the same way they have since my grandparents who have both passed on were young and nobody knew anything about climate change.

That doesn’t necessarily let these companies off the hook, but I don’t think it’s they should be scape-goats and the people who run them should be used as fall guys either. It took time to notice climate change and it will take time for people to change the way they do things.

For instance, when I was a kid we just threw everything in the garbage and it went to the dump and became landfill. Now there are recycle bins with trash cans in most towns that get picked up with the trash. They don’t even get noticed and are taken for granted.

Why not look for small things everyone can do to help with climate change? While corporate greed is probably real, I don’t think making the people who run big business look like bad guys will help change things.
