SHPE National Convention 2025 — Philadelphia, PA

Attending the SHPE National Convention in Philadelphia was an incredibly transformative experience that deepened both my technical understanding and professional growth. Throughout the event, I had the opportunity to engage with industry leaders, attend workshops tailored to engineering innovation, and participate in networking sessions that connected me with professionals from top companies such as Intel, Mortenson, GE Aerospace, and HP.

The convention highlighted the importance of diversity in STEM and reinforced the value of community within the Hispanic engineering network. I learned how to confidently communicate my technical projects—including my work in embedded systems, AI development, and low-power circuit optimization—to recruiters in a way that aligns with real-world industry applications.

Workshops on leadership, data-driven sustainability, and emerging technologies expanded my perspective on how computer engineering integrates into fields like construction safety, IoT, and data centers. Beyond technical takeaways, the experience also strengthened my interpersonal and professional presentation skills—from

 refining my elevator pitch to engaging in meaningful one-on-one conversations with engineers and recruiters.

Overall, SHPE 2025 not only broadened my technical and professional horizons but also inspired me to continue pursuing innovation, collaboration, and representation within engineering.
