Our Favorite Pickers Coming To Illinois

Just heard some exciting news for all of us in Illinois, the infamous and most skilled pickers in the business Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz are coming to our state in June 2017.  They star in the documentary show "American Pickers" on History, often traveling off the beaten paths (in their van) in search of rusty-gold treasures.  They also own shops Antique Archaeology in LeClaire Iowa and Nashville Tennessee.  The guys often roam the countryside with a tv crew looking for items, while Danielle is hard at work running the business (with the help of Mike's brother Robbie, Dave, Lauren and others) transforming their passions into success for their shops.  That old saying "one's man junk is another man's treasure" has been proven by these talented guys (with a great eye for things with value) many times over by instinctively knowing what the public likes and wants to purchase. Our Favorite Pickers Coming To Illinoisrl<br />

NET Most of us that watch them regularly are those that appreciate historical relics, vintage items, recyclers, antique enthusiasts, and the endless collectors of all kind. Many times they even reveal their secrets of the business and teach us about the negotiating process, that we all know often goes along with acquiring unique pieces and items of worth.  If you're the type of person who loves to hear about the background and story of an item, this is the television program to watch.  They have shown such a diverse amount of items including: surf boards, belongings rich and famous, folky art,  funky one-of-a-kinds, rare signage of days gone by (business no longer in existence), even hard to find architectural items for unique decorating have been picked on their show.  They bring us to old barns, abandoned buildings, and residents wanting to thin out their collections, in search of unique items they can bring back to their shops and sell for a profit.  If you live in Illinois and know of any places with old relics that may be of interest to others for repurposing or collecting, search them out on Facebook: @GotAPick, or send them leads to americanpickers@cineflix.com with Name, Location, Phone Number, and Description (with pictures).  For any other questions call 855-OLD-RUST. My personal favorite is the episode where they allowed the kids to have space to sell items (as junior pickers) that most likely created new passions for our future pickers of the world. To learn more about our favorite pickers and their business, they have a great website and blog http://www.antiquearchaeology.com .
