One Earth: And yet again, the Saga Continues
A while ago, I started really thinking about all the back and forth on climate change and had originally posted the yin and yang article below, on a different site. One comment I received on the article was: “Is that the best you have?” At the time, all I could say was, “Yep.”
Since then I have written three others. As I said in the original article that got me going down this path, “I am writing this because my daughters are concerned. I have an obligation to them and future generations to try and make a difference; for their sake not my own.
Today, well, it seems like I have come full circle in trying to understand the insanity and perpetuation of 120 years of yin and yang-isms and brilliant point/counterpoint arguments, debate, and absolutely brilliant nonsense.
The yin and yang of water, food, energy, population & climate.

I just hope it doesn’t take us another 120 years to figure this stuff out.
I hope that we don’t end up having that “Black Swan” smack us in the face and only then figure out that all the posturing, all the rhetoric, all the economic and political maneuvering is ultimately for not; because it will be too late to do anything about any of it.
I hope that the multitude of minds smarter than myself can get their shiitake mushrooms together before we posture ourselves through rhetorical, economic and political maneuvering and maneuver ourselves into oblivion.
You see, I am just a cosmic spec sitting somewhere on a piece of land just under the clouds in the upper middle section of the NASA photo of our ONE EARTH. But in that cosmic reality, I simply remain dumbfounded, perplexed and befuddled that the multitude of other really much smarter and brilliant cosmic specs across this ONE EARTH can’t get this figured out.

Vincent Andrew No I haven't, I have seen other related articles but thank you for sharing. Not sure if you have seen Leonarado DiCaprio's "Before the Flood" but I highly recommend it, merely providing the trailer for your insight: https://www.beforetheflood.com/

Vincent Andrew but he is one whom I respect and admire, and in the realm of the subject, maybe just maybe if one cosmic nature of chaos, fractals and simplicity there just my be a butterfly that will flap its wings in one location on this ONE EARTH that just might cause the change necessary across our planet. I am just one but I remain committed to my quest. Keep making a difference: one person, one step at a time.

Among a litany of activity, once there was Kyoto, then there was Davos, and now there "is"/"was" Paris. Maybe Berlin will do something different, but we need to change our common frame of reference to it all, find the middle ground and truly stop the intellectually stimulating insanity and obfuscating rhetoric. I truly appreciate you taking the time this read and comment and share the article. Within the One Earth manifesto, I end it with a dare and will do so again here for anyone will to take up the challenge like the McCreadies did with plastic. "I Dare You to embrace a different mentality about ONE EARTH as it is the only one we have."

Vincent Andrew Thanks for the comment and article. Very informative. I guess if it were easy, then everyone would be doing it? Will be interesting to see what comes out of the "plastic challenge." I think an issue here is that in the article, it starts out with a comment "The grotesque images of rubbish-strewn Henderson Island, a remote and uninhabited Pacific coral atoll where millions of tonnes of plastic waste have washed up, sent shockwaves around the world." Did it really? I remember seeing it and found myself appalled, ashamed and disgusted. It reminded me of when I was a kid and we had Woodsy Owl how would say to us, "Give a hoot, don't pollute." But at the same time, when I looked at it the same time, I thought to myself why cant we figure this stuff out? Why do we just keep plugging along with the status quo of duality and perpetuate the nonsense. One the one hand we are appalled about an island full of plastic trash. On the other, we just keep producing, consuming and discarding more and more and more plastic. You know most people will look at it and just say, wow that's just terrible, whose going to have to clean it up (the person taking the picture?), and then they move on. Why, because the real issue(s) just don't affect our comfort zones or oodles of satisfaction.
