Meeting a Fellow bee Thanks to beBee!

Meeting a Fellow bee Thanks to beBee!

Some of you may have already heard that I will be meeting a fellow 'bee' in Nags Head, North Carolina to enjoy an oceanfront get away together. It will be the first time we meet. We've known each other since the Linkedin days but really got to know each other thanks to beBee.

We have spent months talking to each other on the phone, she even feels comfortable talking to my husband and likewise. They are both full of piss and vinegar, so they are at ease with fun wise cracks at each other.

I think what drew me to this fellow bee was her passion for life. She is uplifting, has a great sense of humor, very driven person with a good life and work ethic and she's as honest as they come. I know if I ask her opinion about something, she won't sugar coat it but will give me sincere and honest feedback. I know I've mentioned humor but seriously, she makes me laugh, which is necessary considering many of us forget to laugh because life can be too serious at times.

After our first icebreaker of a conversation, we both felt comfortable being ourselves. I don't think either of us have a problem with that, it just depends on the chemistry you feel with another person if you get that strong six sense that it's Okay to be who you are without limitations.

Almost every time we spoke over the past 4 months or so I kept telling her I really missed the ocean. One particular day in June when we were talking and I brought it up again, she said, "Lets do it!" I asked if she was serious, as if I needed to but she answered, "hell ya!" I began looking for oceanfront rentals because we both agreed if we were going to do this, we wanted to be able to see the Ocean from our rental and also be able to walk right out the door and be on the sand, walking along the ocean. After sending about 10 links to Pamela 🐝 Williams (yes, it's Pam!), we both saw one rental in particular we loved. It's an oceanfront condo with 2 master bedrooms. Pam and I both like a TV in our bedroom and vacation is no different. It was a bit hard to find a condo that had a TV in the second bedroom that was Oceanfront and within our price range.

It's been easy to talk about 'our' needs while on vacation together. We share a lot in common and of course, we have differences as well. It's always good to bring up every concern you may have if you're going with a friend on vacation because you don't want to fool yourself that you can suck it up and get along if your differences outweigh what you may have in common.

What do we have in common?

 • We enjoy our time alone
 • We aren't total isolationists, so that means we will have fun together without conditions involved
 • We both get hot very easy, so keeping the A/C on low is a non-issue for both of us ( I had to ask her about A/C because I sleep with a fan on me in the winter time, she does too) Check... on the same page.
 • We share a mutual interest in Astrology, so Pam is bringing a book on Astrology, I forget the name of it.
 • We love to eat but we hate loud noise and large crowds, it shouldn't be hard to agree on restaurants!
 • There will be no hard feelings if I want to go somewhere and she doesn't, same goes for Pam, no hard feelings if she wants to hit a place and I don't. Again, no expectations or conditions.
 • We are both no frills types of women who are comfortable in our jogging pants or jeans

What we don't have in common?

 • Pam is an early morning person, I'm not. She loves to walk the beach very early with a coffee in one hand and a donut in the other hand.
 • I prefer to walk the beach late morning or early afternoon with my camera in hand.
 • She will probably be hitting the bed as I sit out on the deck with my PC, I promise to be quiet Pam.

I will end this with a bit of my humor and it will probably sound warped but hey, that's me... I have to find humor in things I have no control over. We were talking about death and our wishes the other night... no- it wasn't a depressing conversation and within minutes we couldn't breathe we were laughing so hard. I told her about a funny conversation I had with another friend once. Please keep in mind, what we talked about was purely a joke, to make light of death and our fears. I said to my friend, "What if they think I'm dead but I'm really not?" My friend said, well hopefully we will both be old and senile by the time we die so I will tell you what- "I'll put army fatigues over my granny jammies and come in and shoot you just to make sure you really are dead and you have to promise to do the same for me, she said. Ok, we were already laughing hysterically at this point. Between snorts and catching our breath, we would add a bit more like, "Don't take your armband off from the nursing home you ran out of, that way they will just return you there instead of jail." No worries, I plan to be cremated but making light of death made it easier to talk about. I think we were in our 30's when we had that back and forth. I also told her to make sure they were playing Journey, "Don't stop believing," at my funeral because my husband hates that song. Pam was dying with laughter when I shared this silly (or some of you may be thinking, stupid?) back and forth I had with my girlfriend. I also changed my mind about the song I want played. I decided and it will be in my will that I want Justin Timberlake's song, "Can't Stop This Feeling," because that's who I am, a person who really does love life and would sing and dance my way through it if I could! So, now you know one of my dirty little secrets. Maybe Pam and I will do a fun beach video with this song? It's okay Pam, I will dance, you can video. "Got this feeling in my body, come on!"

For the record: My friend and I do not own guns, we just have wicked humor at times. If you didn't find the humor in the conversation with my friend, I guess you had to hear the tone. Okay, back to dancing!

I love planning! I should have become a personal trip planner for people. I plan dream vacation all winter which usually never happen but it's fun none the less. My husband has never planned any of our trips, I do all the planning, hotel arrangements etc... so no worries and glad it takes a load off you Pamela 🐝 Williams. I found the perfect cafe in Nags Head and I think they are open year round. Check out the website, the coffee is to die for and wow.. the bakery.. yes chocolate filled croissants too! http://www.frontporchcafeonline.com/ Watch the video and also click on menu at top of page.

A cosmopolitan? I don't think I've ever tried one, we may have to have one together! Need to find a good dive that isn't loud, oh wait... they are usually loud. I did some more researching last night and the good news is that many restaurants, breweries, and other places are open until Dec. or all season! Yes, to both, I had to go back and look, LOL... well now we all know your lil secret ;-) If it's night time and you've gone off on the beach, don't expect me to come looking for you now hahaha!

Hi Turatsinze, If there are others from Rwanda or near by- even the Capitol city on beBee, it's always possible to have a meet up if you have transportation? Do you use a computer or a cell phone for your internet? Do you know of anyone else near you that is using beBee? My friend and I live about 9 hours from each other. Do you have transportation to get around in Rwanda, such as motorbikes?

#36 oh this could be fun, the list is growing. "Dirty girl Martini and Men-OutaPause" What is in a dirty girl martini Cyndi wilkins, they call them secrets for a reason! ;-) I will probably drive Pam nuts w/my planning by the time we meet. Ok, I will try to keep the planning to a minimum.

LOL, Cyndi wilkins, I would hear you giggling and then hand you a drink too LOL! I have met a handful of people from Social Media in person over the past 10 years, never been disappointed. That human connection really does make a difference! Now, how about a white chocolate martini? ;-)

I read you can have bonfires on the beach in Nags Head Aaron 🐝 Skogen, we have to check if it's only during certain months, because that would be a blast for sure! I agree, it's wonderful to have friends who accept for who you are but who wants friends that don't, right? LOL. Actually, it took me until my 30's to understand that I did have friends who had major expectations and they would get mad if you didn't meet those expectations. So, I made a pact w/myself to choose wisely and let go of those I had nothing in common with. Never had regrets. I see my daughter struggling with that now that she's a mom and closing in on the age of 30. I think she is figuring it out too. Quality over quantity! Thanks Aaron.

Phew, another person Yogesh Sukal who appreciated my warped humor lol. Sometimes the dumbest conversations turn funny if we keep going with it. I have to say, one of my favorite things to do on occasion is to go to a Comedy club. It's the best therapy ever, laughing and laughing until your gut hurts. If I had the money, I would open up a Comedy club in our town- it might be just what the Dr. ordered since so many people around here don't seem to have many options when it comes to fun places to visit in town. It's a small, rural community. I think I played Justin's song 3 times last night and I danced to it- it's an addicting song for me and hey, good exercise too! ;-)

Ha ha, thanks , glad you enjoyed the humor. We were very giddy that night and there were a lot more layers but i didn't add them because we were being silly and a bit off key (with our humor) , but that makes some things even funnier. I'm very excited about our vacation. I feel like I've known Pam my entire life. Many times she will call me or vice versa and one of us will say, "Oh my gosh, I was JUST thinking of you!" I'm really excited, I know this vacation will be a lot of fun and more importantly, relaxing.

Franci🐝Eugenia Hoffman, beBee Brand Ambassador, did you know because of my description or see it somewhere. I think one of us mentioned on someone's buzz lol. We dont leave until the end of Sept. So, crossing fingers- no hurricanes please! Too bad we weren't going to be further down the coast, we could have met up w/you too! If I ever get to Ga, I'd love for you to give me a tour of one of the unique towns you visited this past few months :)

I'm glad this helped to lighten up something that's been so hard on you Tausif Mundrawala. I'm sorry those around you are so serious right now. If they aren't able to laugh or smile, get together w/friends who can help to lighten your mood, it sounds like you need to laugh considering all you've experienced. Sending good thoughts to you!! It would be great to meet more bees like you and others one day :))
