Know what you are adding to the noise

Know what you are adding to the noise

Why do we post or blog or even text? Why add to the noise? What do we have to say that is so vital that we believe others should stop and use their time to read it? This post included. What do I intend to say that is even remotely valuable enough for you to add it into your schedule?

Words from the mouth of a wise man are gracious, while the lips of a fool consume him; 13 the beginning of his talking is folly and the end of it is wicked madness. Eccl 10:12-13 (NASB) So in my writing do I believe myself to be the wise man yet all too often prove myself to be the fool?

When we choose to add to the noise I expect we must risk the truth and hope for the best. We choose to hope for wisdom and avoid the foolish; we risk more than we believe.

So I expect as we take this risk we must express ourselves carefully and hopefully with purpose then perhaps add a touch of skill, but to what end? What do our words contribute? To what end do we add our additions to the noise?

I have read many a post and indeed blogs that seem that the author must add to the noise as if it were their breath and to stop would be their death. Yet in all their words what did they say? I in my own vast additions to the noise have failed to add as much wisdom as I had believed, and for that I truly apologies. When there are many words, transgression is unavoidable, But he who restrains his lips is wise. Proverbs 10:19 (NASB)

So let me end with this. When you choose to add to the noise, think twice and add carefully.

Blessings
