Here's How to Get Your Post Promoted Via beBee's Social Media Pages
A few weeks ago, I made the announcement that beBee has begun to use its social media pages on platforms like Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, and Facebook to promote our writers to help them get more exposure. In case you missed it, you can read that announcement here.
Since we started this project in beta, many great posts have been promoted already. Many people have asked us about the criteria we will use to determine which posts get promoted.
It is really quite simple. If you are a celebrity you will automatically be promoted. I will also use my exceptional judgement and generally promote the writers that are the nicest to me. Ha, ha, ha! (That is my attempt at blogging humor!)
Ok, here is how it's going to really work. Like with everything we do on this platform, we want to be free of algorithmic control and blatant favoritism. The plan is to let the readers decide which ones they like the best and then promote those posts.
We will also have a post of the month. This author will get special recognition from beBee, and will be determined by the post that has the most page views. It also must meet the requirements outlined below.
Criteria to be promoted:
- Post has 20 or more relevants.
- Post has 5 comments from readers.
Things to avoid:
- Poorly written posts that contain many grammar errors.
- There is a link after only a few sentences redirecting readers to another site. It’s fine to have links, but the post must be complete.
- Offensive imagery, content, or language.
- The author does not have a profile picture.
- The article is clearly a sales pitch for the author’s business, product, service, book, etc.

Anders Liu-Lindberg: no, we found out that this particular writer has been bribing his friends and relatives to get relevants. Ha, ha, ha! Seriously, though, we will do some promotion on this because we feel it is a unique feature in the marketplace. As you know, on LinkedIn you can get featured but it seems to now be few and far between for independent writers and the criteria is a lot less clear. Medium does some promotion for their writers via email, but they don't use their social media pages. To my knowledge, Wordpress,Tumblr, and Blogger do not promote their writers at all.

Brian McKenzie: Since you are a global celebrity, we will overlook the sales pitches! Ha, ha! Seriously, what we are trying to avoid are the blatant product slams.
