Great Scholarships For Military Veterans And Their Families

GREAT
SCHOLARSHIPS
FOR MILITARY
VETERANS AND
THEIR FAMILIES

Peter Palivos Attorney | PeterPalivos orgBeing an active member of the military usually means sacrificing some extent of your life to serve our country. Because of this, many organizations have created scholarships for members of the military as well as for their families so they can obtain the college education they may have sacrificed by joining, and as a way of thanking them for their service. A multitude of scholarships exist for veterans and their families, and here are some of the best.

Army Women’s Foundation Legacy Scholarship

This scholarship grants up to $2,500 as a way of assisting female undergraduate or graduate students at accredited U.S Institutions. Candidates have to either be serving or have served in the U.S. Army, U.S. Army Reserve, or the Army National Guard, as well as having a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better. If they do qualify, they must submit an application form along with an essay, transcript, recommendations, and proof of active duty or veteran status from a commanding officer.

Chief Petty Officer Scholarship Fund

Every year the Chief Petty Officer Scholarship Fund offers up to 60 scholarships to improve access to educational opportunities for children and non-uniformed spouses of an active duty or veteran Chief, Senior Chief, or Master Chief Petty Officer of the U.S. Navy. The scholarship is usually $2000 and includes dependent children, adopted children, and stepchildren. In order to qualify, applicants have to be graduating high school seniors or high school graduates as well as be accepted into or currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate institution, as well as submit three letters of recommendation.

Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund

This scholarship aims to honor the bravery exhibited by members of the U.S. Armed Forces by awarding up to $25,000 to dependent children of an active duty service member who was killed or permanently disabled due to an operational mission or training accident. In order to qualify, applicants must be high school seniors or high school graduates that are currently enrolled or accepted for enrollment in any accredited U.S. institution of higher learning.

Hope For The Warriors Spouse/Caregiver Scholarships

The Hope For Warriors Foundation offers this scholarship every year in recognition for military spouses and caregivers for their resolve despite adversity as a way to assist them financially as they continue their education at an accredited U.S. institution. In order to be considered, applications must fill out an application and certification form as well as show proof of military injury or death. On top of this, they must also include an original essay discussing academic achievement and their personal goals, a two-page questionnaire, and two letters of recommendation.

Military Officers Association Of America Scholarship Fund

Scholarship amounts vary, and can applicants can sometimes receive up to five years of undergraduate funding. In order to enroll, candidates must be enrolled at an accredited U.S. Institution, be under the age of 24, and maintain a good academic standard.
