Georgia Foreign Trade Conference 2017, updates by Bill Stankiewicz
Hello bees you all invited to Savannah, come attend the Georgia Foreign Trade Conference.
Unlike the Logistics Summit, the 51st annual Georgia Foreign Trade Conference is just around the corner. Set for Feb. 6-7 at The Cloister on Sea Island, the conference attracts hundreds of industry leaders and decision-makers, from senior-level shippers to maritime executives. They represent ocean carriers, ports, terminal operators, government agencies, financial institutions, shippers, stevedores, railroads, truckers, forwarders, brokers, international port management companies, port consultants, suppliers, site selectors and others critical to the movement of international freight.
Highlights of the upcoming conference include keynotes by Walter Kemmsies of Jones Lang LaSalle Inc., and Mike Abrashoff, former commander of the USS Benfold and author of “It’s Your Ship.”
Among Monday’s topics will be an update from state leaders featuring Commissioner Pat Wilson of the Georgia Department of Economic Development, Commissioner Russell McMurray of the Georgia Department of Economic Development, and Griff Lynch, executive director of Georgia Ports Authority.
Tuesday’s agenda will feature a carrier industry update, automotive industry outlook and a keynote address from former University of Georgia football player and Heisman Trophy winner Herschel Walker.
