LEYTE RECOWell, it's over. We knew it had to happen. Nothing lasts for ever. Blah. Blah. Blah.

And once again we get to go gaga over a new year -- 2017!

I mean -- wasn't it just 1999, when we expected the world to crash thanks to the idea that computers might not know how to handle the rollover from 1999 to 2000? Y2K? Wasn't that what it was called? We all held our collective breath ... and waited. And we survived that non-event, that milestone.

So to honor another milestone -- the last Friday Funday of 2016 -- I hope you take a few seconds to look and laugh. And comment -- please. I love knowing which one(s) you enjoyed the most.

Let's start with a few leftover Christmas jokes . . .

Your son sounds very creative, Kevin Pashuk, and I applaud him. I can see why the teacher might not have been amused, but . . . I hope you have a wonderful New Year's eve/day!

Thank you so much, @Preston Vander Ven! I agree with all you wrote, and I'm happy you enjoyed my post. I've been publishing for two years over on LI, started here on beBee a few months ago, and I always publish a Friday Funday, sometimes even a Silly Saturday when I get overwhelmed with great stuff. Happy New Year!

Another great collection Susan! The verbose pea package reminded me of my youngest son in Grade 10 English. The assignment was for a 1000 word essay, but he ran out of words at about the 500 mark. He then used the fake Latin "Lorem Ipsum" text to make up the word count. In his mind he met the requirements. The teacher was not amused, but I thought it clever. He's graduating university this year and we still laugh about it.

The alleged legal review of the season's greetings proposal gets my vote, Susan. I assume that the draft was destroyed prior to delivery of the final amended version, in order to avoid discovery should files be subpoenaed in relation to any future dispute concerning either the degree of merriment allegedly experienced or the period which future judgement may constitute as comprising the 'New Year'.
Thanks so much, Laurent Boscherini, for sharing my Friday Funday! I wish you a very Happy New Year!
