Yup—I’m sort of a digital dinosaur when it comes to professional media. I found comfort and camaraderie when I read Joel Anderson’s https://www.bebee.com/producer/@joel-anderson/slow-on-the-uptake-but-not-anymore-well-ok-maybe-still-a-little-slow-but-hey-i-m-a-digital-immigrant.

It was close, but I got no banana.

My mind grinds to a halt when graphics confronts me in Spanish. They look so sweet—still no banana. I got lost in the translation of Javier 🐝 beBee ‘s https://www.bebee.com/content/1556767/1370167. Not even noticing there was a link to an easily translatable text that I could copy and paste into Google translator until Javier 🐝 beBee pointed it out. My mind was grumbling through what translation I could do in my head, but my classes in Espanol were so long ago... Thank you, Irene, for making me pause enough to realize there was more. I grit my teeth and try to stumble through some of the wonderful graphics in Spanish. But the text in graphics cannot be copied and pasted into a translator. It's why I sometimes produce my posts in Spanish and English. I've read so many wonderful posts through Google translator that I want to share with my Hispanic brothers and sisters.

I did figure out a way to capture text from graphics so that I could capture it to plug into the translator. I reproduce the Spanish text in a comment box, then cut and paste it into the translator.

I dabble in clouds but don’t understand them to any great degree. I upload to Adobe Cloud when I need to. I stumbled on that one. But a song comes to mind as I grapple with Clouds.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7Xm30heHms

"I really don’t know clouds—at all."

See--I don't even know how to embed a youtube video. Wait.. Oops, still no banana. Put that on my rather large bucket list. HOW DO I STICK IT IN THERE?

https://youtu.be/A7Xm30heHms

My thing was hardware. I can troubleshoot with the best of them. But my hands can no longer grapple with those tiny screws. I truly miss that. I once had trouble with my cursor cornering to the left-hand, bottom side of the screen. After reloading Windows thrice, I discovered it was dust in the fan housing of the video card. Bingo

Am I a digital Dinosaur? In many respects yes. Fran 🐝 Brizzolis put together an email signature here:

Watch out, Fran—you’re an arteest. He sent along enough information so I can probably stumble through learning to do it myself. But time is precious and is eaten up by writing and contemplation of writing.

I have gained enough knowledge about a few graphics programs so I can do a few simple things.

It's fun and rewarding. But it's still a battle. I'm Grrrowling, too. There is so much more to learn, but I'm trying to focus on writing and time seems so short. What I want to do and what I must do conflict. My client is chaffing at the bit for his first blog post. In order to conserve time learning the in's and out's of graphics, I'd need someone to take me by the hand and lead me through. I'd probably produce a headslap. It's probably easy. Of course, I'd say...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qF0Q_a6FfZw

Espera .. Oops, todavía no banana.

Likewise Harvey great thoughts. If we look for it, we will see tiny pockets of humanity in a state of flow. Not a state of flow but "humanity in a state of flow" and if I did not see this existence then I am only referencing hope. Instead my desire is to see an abundance of humanity, whereas humanity today is a scarcity. As new generations evolve that see humanity as a natural emergence rather than an idealism, that is when the idea of renaissance can be applied. Nature in its emergent design is symbolic of a successful system, but it also carries designs which are counter to our idea of humanity, it did not ask us to build a City on the edge of a volcano, it's design includes a force that is destructive to life, but which is an instrument of creating new life. A volcanic eruption that is a part of the natural evolving nature is a part of the success of nature. When we take carbon deposits which nature has successfully buried to preserve carbon dioxide levels, we begin to become our own worst enemies. It will also be beyond the mindset of coming generations who will look back at us as people who invested in selfish success and not holistic success. We will look like primitive thinkers or even children who failed to evolve as beings. I don't think that climate change will reach a point of no return for humanity because the foolishness we see now will prompt an evolution in thinking with successive generations. Our collective legacy may serve in history to be a warning to future generations - just as the 20th Century served two warnings about the foolishness of global war. It is not a question of IF but WHEN there is societal transformation. Our greatest failure as a human race is history repeating itself - but now we can begin to really learn.

Now I am dinosaur or dinosaur egg. I do not know how to use those programs, canva, adobe ... 😅
#17
I've been using Adobe Photoshop and Corel. Both save to JPG, so I can set it up in one and finish up in the other. But I look forward to taking a hard look at canva.
thank you, Milos Djukic for the shares.

I, too, am looking forward to that new application. I missed that--how did I miss that?

Of course, me too. I translate English, Portuguese, and Italian if the sentences catch my attention, and I answer in their respective languages. I am looking forward to being able to use the novelties and that translator so as not to miss great articles.

There is an upside and a downside to language translators. The upside is that it allows us to understand in English what others have written in another language, but the downside is that because it makes it easy to translate, it makes it less likely rather than more likely that one would take an interest in actually learning the translated language. As I think in English and speak in English, right now I don't have the motivation to master a language and typically I am not very good learning languages including the language of my parents, so today I speak pigeon Punjabi. Then there are people like Gert Scholtz who by being at beBee have been inspired to learn Spanish and he is beginning on this language journey or language challenge this year. I did pay for Spanish classes when I was 20 and lasted only one class - no refund, just another reminder that my prior efforts to learn Italian and French all met the same end, never mind my ever so brief attempt to learn a computer language called COBOL. When it comes to languages, I have never possessed a stellar record of mastery. I do try to see if I can pick up Spanish here at beBee but it is mostly futile, that part of my brain that should be helping me with mastering language does not seem to work.
;-)) Wonderful bees

I am a fan of Google Translate and not only for Spanish, there are other global beBee groups including the Portuguese translations from the Brazilian contingent and then there are varied groups we don't often see like Russian bees. It will be nice to sort the people I follow to their primary language, especially the group that is based solely on translation. I look forward to the new beBee, that translation option will accelerate connections between people that were previously separated by language.
As I've said before--I post, then edit. I find it muy dificil to edit en Espanol when I have un poco knowledge of it. But I think it's finished now.

#2 #3 Thank you all for your positive thoughts. Many of us do indeed face challenges and it is indeed refreshing that there are those who enthusiastically step up to help. I love the addition to my email signature, Fran 🐝 Brizzolis, your buzz was a Godsend. I'm excited to be here and am excited to be able to contribute.

Joyce 🐝 Bowen Brand Ambassador @ beBee Thank you for the mention. Your post is refreshing on several levels. 1. It underscores that I am not alone in my ToT navigation skills. 2. There are so many good people like you on this site (too many to call out here) who not only write but convey absolute passion and positivity despite the technical and human challenges we face daily. 3. That despite the physical, verbal and technical challenges the fact that we are trying to translate things just underscores the global impact of beBee, the nature of our shrinking world and commonality despite our differences, and the value of the content and postings by polished writers and hacks like me. Thank you again and keep making a difference: one person, one step, one translation at a time.

I have been in the network for 6 months, I have trouble moving, I have to learn a lot. The graphics and infographics, I copy them by hand and I translate them, not all, therefore I lose information. I'm looking forward to using the new beBee applications, I think there is a translation system, it will certainly be a success. It has been a pleasure to take a few minutes of my time and translate the interview. Almost more than telling him that the interview was under the other headlines. The power bestowed by BeBee is to create ties. 😘.
