Dear Gen X/Baby Boomers...sincerely, the true Millennial.
Dear Generation X and Baby Boomers,
Millennials like myself often get a bad reputation from you. We are called self-entitled, lazy, narcissistic, and seeking appraisal for no reason. From my experience, I have found quite the contrary. I have found that we are actually balanced, professional, and just simply misunderstood.
We can multi-task a social life, work life, family, and still make time to read, write, learn, and create. We can learn cutting edge technology such as 3D printing, in one twelve week semester. We are producers, composers, artists, and inventors. We are so competent with technology that our precense in the world is needed and we feel hurt when we are looked at as inadequate by your generations.
I think to some degree we do deserve a little bit of praise, because we grew up in a negative economy and an era where people tried to bring us down and make us feel less because we were "handed" things. Sure, we were handed our MacBooks and iPhones but we thank you for giving us the platform to thrive and grow. Together as a generation, we hope to leave this world a better place and soon be able to have our ideas taken more seriously as we mature and grow into our mid-twenties and thirties. We thank you for your patience and we are sorry for being "self-entitled" brats as teenagers since it took some of us a little bit longer to mature. We look forward to doing business with you and want you to know that there is hope for us and the world if you give us a chance.
Your true Millennial."
