Before Writing Comes Thinking — Or At Least It Should
IF YOU CONCENTRATE ON THINKING MORE CLEARLY, YOU WILL AS A MATTER OF COURSE IMPROVE YOUR WRITING...
A great number of people seek help to improve their writing. However, in most cases, improving one's writing is to put the cart before the horse — as a far better approach is to first improve the clarity of your thought, and to sharpen your reasoning abilities.
Form without substance is vacuous, and literary facility without rational foundation is sophistry...
Phil Friedman (If I Do Say So Myself)
Do you know how to reason your way through a simple syllogism? Do you understand the difference between deductive and inductive reasoning? Can you wade though claims by others, and discern which are factual and which are baloney? When you write and publish on a public platform, are you confident in standing up to those who disagree with you?
If you're unsure of yourself in these or other areas pertaining to your writing, the time is now to develop the intellectual muscle you'd like to have...
At www.learn2engage.org, we help you improve your reasoning skills and thinking abilities, and as a matter of course, thereby help you improve the quality of your writing. Instruction is handled directly by yours truly, both over the internet and in person, both one-on-one and in small supportive groups. For more information and to arrange for a free 1/2-hour consult, contact me, Phil Friedman, right away. You won't regret that you did.

yes, Milos Djukic, you've caught me there. But I hope I've included at least a tiny nugget of good advice, as well. Cheers!

Ah yes, @Maja Vujovic, abduction is an interesting case, especially for those of us who read some of the work of C. S. Peirce and A.J. Ayer. I also have a fondness for "eduction" -- defined as similar to induction, but moving to a valied generalization from a single, self-evidentiary instance of factual observation. As you, no doubt, well know, logical reconstruction is the pathway to the thinking soul. Thank you for reading and commenting. Cheers!

Thank Cory Galbraith for the reading and commenting, and for the heads up. Actually, the website, which is mounted on Blogger, is dynamic -- or is supposed to be -- and reformats for mobile devices. I just rechecked and it seems to work for iPhone and iPad, although I cannot at this point say about Android based devices. It does work, though, on Windows 10 tablet devices. Of course, I can't help you until you give up that 15 year old Motorola smart phone you're still using. :-) For the record, I have both Blogger and WordPress sites operating for varying business purposes, and find that the Blogger sites are quicker to set up -- although somewhat more limited in terms of features. Considering migrating the learn2engage site over to WordPress.

Thank you for the kind words, Nicole Chardenet. Interesting that so many people are actually seeing worthwhile content in a post that I saw initially as pretty much an advertisement for my new program, learn2engage. I guess the theme resonates. Which is encouraging -- on all fronts. Cheers!
