Accountability Drives Effective Leadership
To become a leader, one must accept the accountability that goes with the role. And until you take full responsibility, you are not fulfilling your leadership role. Accountability is about accepting full responsibility for the final outcomes, good and bad, expected of you. Effective leadership starts with accountability. And accountability starts with honesty. Transparency reinforces ownership. Accountability is also about acknowledging problems and finding solutions to fix them. Accountable leaders commit to taking the necessary actions to elevate organizations and achieve excellence. Championing positive change requires the input from others. The ability to accept both positive and negative feedback to bring about positive change. Ultimately, accountability is a big responsibility that, if accepted, drives effectiveness, builds trust, fosters respect, promotes fairness and motivates engagement.
