911: A 15th Anniversary Tribute in Photos

Living in New York gives me the opportunity to take a lot of fun and interesting pictures. But on days like 9/11, Lower Manhattan turns into a very solemn place and the pictures one takes are out of respect - for remembrance. Photographing on 9/11 is my way, as a photographer, of paying respect and saying we will never forget the victims of this terrorist attack - nor will we forget who perpetrated this evil act.

The images with the beams of light directly above were taken on the rooftop of the Brooklyn Battery Parking Garage which I was lucky enough to get access to on 9/11.

Images were taken with a Panasonic Lumix LX100 Camera or a LG V10 Smartphone.

Thank you for sharing these amazing and inspiring photos, Matt, which are most appreciated -- especially from a native NYer like me. Maybe we should start a "beBee NY Office" hive (with office updates, etc.) or "Native NYers hive" or "beBee NYC"? Just food for thought for the Big Apple (for which beBee is taking a bite).
