324 Million plus or minus a few

Five irrational thoughts on the
November 8, 2016 US Elections

Despite all the demagoguery; someone will be elected president
Despite all the nonsensical & emotional projectile vomit; someone will be elected president.
Despite all the accusation and rhetoric; someone will be elected president.

Despite all the innuendo, misleading statements, and sensationalism of every political event,
every blog, every post; someone will be elected president.

S. Despite the purveying of doom, the universe as we know it will still be the universe; someone
will be elected president. Whomever that will be will not represent 100% of the people.
Despite the red and blue colored maps and media “breaking news” carnival-isms; time will
march on. And, | for one will support whomever is elected. Why? Because for good, bad or
indifferent—whomever is elected will be MY President. My conscience will be clear and I will
have voted

Let’s just hypothetically assume that the US population is approximately 324 Million plus or minus a few here and there.

That would mean that Hillary and Donald either are just one, or depending on how you look at it, two in that number of + or -  or so here in the US. If we have an approximate net gain of one person every 12 seconds regardless of where that gain comes from, they still are just two--no, one.

Now I would like to think that one person can make a difference, but in the reality of things one person is still just one person. So we have around 324 million + or - of these onesies running amuck. Some of these onesies are running for office. Some of these onesies are in the media. Some of these onesies are in government at the local, state and national levels. The vast majority of us onesies actually make this country what it is. Not the poster children of onesies.

So how is it that two people, influenced by a slightly larger albeit exceptionally small number of onesies out there can delude and herd us all into such a frenzy?

Me, I originally posted the graphic on 5 irrational thoughts awhile back and had someone tell me I was naïve. That may be true, but I refuse to let all the BS of herding cats herd me where I do not desire to be. I am not a mindless automaton, and despite being only one of 324 million + or - I think that we actually live in a great country, I think we have so much to be thankful for, I also think we take so much for granted.  And yes, I will cast my one vote on November 8th and then will continue to press ahead reveling in my onesie-ness.

“Democracy must be built through open societies that share information. When there is information, there is enlightenment. When there is debate, there are solutions. When there is no sharing of power, no rule of law, no accountability, there is abuse, corruption, subjugation and indignation.” Atifete Jahjaga

Painting with a broad brush is not a best practice, to coin a phrase from the business world. The media is an easy scape goat. Always has been, always will be. If you distrust all forms of media, where are you getting the information to be an informed voter?. #2

I think i am finally getting the point here, someone will be President and i will support them from my in ground bunker. Good post and we do need not write off our country based on a poor election cycle.
