A recent study conducted in the United States by researchers at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health delves deeper into this topic. It specifically examines the impact of adopting a healthy diet during midlife and its role in promoting long-term health and longevity.
The Study:
The Harvard research team analyzed data from 106,931 individuals over a 30-year period, beginning in 1986. At the start, all participants were at least 39 years old and free of chronic diseases. To track dietary habits, the researchers collected detailed food information every four years through comprehensive questionnaires.
