Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream is seeking to fill the positions for Utility Maintenance Technicians:
If you would like a job that will both challenge and develop your skills, we want to talk to you.  The Bakersfield facility is a 24-hour operation that produces ice cream and frozen snack products.  General job qualifications include possessing excellent communications skills, problem solving skills, a desire to work within a fast-paced environment, and the ability to work within a team based environment.  Specific job qualifications required are as follows:
The Utility Maintenance Technician position is a craftsman level position with responsibility for preventative, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of plant assets in an efficient manner to improve reliability.  This position is responsible for operating and maintaining the plant “ammonia” refrigeration system along with other related and unrelated equipment such as boilers, air compressors, wastewater treatment, air conditioning systems, and incoming power distribution systems. Other specific job qualifications required are as follows:
Minimum of 5 years experience refrigeration and/or HVAC systems.
Fully understand the thermodynamics concept of the refrigeration cycle in its entirety.
Strong Electrical control circuitry trouble shooting skills with the ability to read schematics and troubleshoot all electrical components.
A plus if you have 2 years experience with boilers and air compressors.
Required to be certified through RETA as an Industrial Refrigeration Operator (CIRO).  If the person does not meet this requirement, he/she may still be considered for the position if he/she is otherwise certified through RETA as a CARO, Level A or Level B Operator under the following condition:  it is expected that the technician being hired take and pass the RETA CIRO exam within 6-months from the date of hire. And in 1 year be CRES certified
Must be willing to work 2nd or 3rd shift
