Full Stack Engineer, Internationalization

Description

We are looking for a self-starter who is passionate about Meetup and building global products for a community serving over 25M+ members worldwide across multiple cultures and languages. We invite you to join the International Team at a very early stage and be a key engineer in developing an in-house microservice platform managing translations in a continuous delivery environment while defining and advocating for the best l10n/i18n practices. You are an Engineer who is comfortable working across the stack, partnering with different teams, and strives to make a maximum impact on people and our product.

Your Experience:

2+ years working in the internationalization/localization of software
4+ years in Software Engineering roles
Expert knowledge of at least one strongly-typed language *Scala or Java preferred
Building/working on a globalized product and web development
Thrilled at the idea of helping grow local community worldwide
Thorough knowledge of Unicode design, ICU4J, CLDR, and other common i18n standards
Your Impact with Us:

Determine and advocate for best l10n/i18n practices
Collaborate with and train Engineers across the company to build an internationalized product
Build and support tools for development and continuous deployment of internationalized platforms, codebases and products
Contribute to the translation of Meetup into new languages by integration with a crowdsourcing-based TMS
