    SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
    Family office is seeking a highly experienced accountant to oversee accounting staff and accounting activity in our corporate office. Must be exceptionally knowledgeable in all accounting practices, preferably in a variety of industries.

    As Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of financial statements through previous month for fifteen (15) companies across different industries.

    The right person will build upon existing accounting experience and utilize it to maintain and improve the Company's accounting standards.

    Candidate must have strong interpersonal skills, strong accounting skills, exceptional attention to detail, and enjoy team building and leadership. The ideal candidate is fun to work with and has an optimistic outlook.


    JOB DESCRIPTION


    Overall responsibility for preparation of financial statements through previous month of all 15 companies for ownership by the 10th of the month.

    Oversee accounting staff with regards to accounting practices and needs.

    Make monthly journal entries.

    Make annual year-end adjusting journal entries.

    Resolve inventory reporting issues with retail POS system and QuickBooks.

    Inter-company balance reconciliation.

    Ensure Sales & Use Tax returns are accurately prepared and timely filed with State agency.

    Prepare annual 1099's and ensure timely filing with Federal and State agencies.

    Prepare Annual Income & Expense reports and ensure timely filing with towns.

    Prepare annual Personal Property Tax Declarations and ensure timely filing with towns.


    Coordinate with attorney's office to ensure annual filings are submitted for all companies to the Secretary of State (
    CTand DE).

    Communicate and provide CPA firm with any reporting needs for preparation of tax returns.

    Responsible, in conjunction with CPA, for all company tax reporting and payments, and quarterly estimated payments.

    Monitor incoming rental payments, communicate adjustments for real estate taxes, rent increases.

    Ensure monthly and annual historical reports are generated and saved digitally.

    Work in conjunction with Aviation Division to ensure timely and accurate financial records and monthly reporting.

    Keep all companies compliant with Federal and State requirements.

    Coordinate with Owner and Chief Investment Officer in formation of new companies, closing of companies, and merging of companies.

    Other tasks and responsibilities assigned to you.


    SKILLS:
    Minimum of 10 years accounting experience, preferably in a variety of industries.

    Proficiency with QuickBooks Accountant Desktop.

    Ability to work in fast-paced environment.

    Experience leading an accounting team.

    Detail oriented, organized, and willingness to troubleshoot problems.

    Ability to find things that might "fall through the cracks" and follow through.


    WORK SCHEDULE:

    • 2 days per week.

    PHYSICIAL REQUIREMENTS:
    Remaining in a seated position for an extended period of time.


    PAY:
    $35 - $50 / hour
