Job summary
The Medical Advocate advocates for and often provides the training of medical personnel in order to provide such personnel a better understanding of domestic violence and how it can present in a medical setting.This candidate will be required to make community presentations and should feel comfortable in speaking before small to medium-sized groups.
She/he/they must have the ability to provide crisis intervention through counseling and advocacy resources for individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences across the life span.
Key Tasks include participating in the education/training of medical/nursing/pre-hospital/social services/case management/personnel via live/virtual/hybrid programs,
- Participate in professional continuing education/community awareness conferences,
- Work with other staff/medical healthcare organizations/professional school/community based organizations as needed
- Coordinate with other staff who are providing outreach services/training including K-12 schools/fait based organization/community based organization?
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with medical institutions to provide training/resources/system-wide awareness of signs of domestic violence encountered while working with patients.
