    About the Role
    Position Summary

    The Marketing & Consumer Insights Specialist is responsible for designing and delivering reactive and proactive customer presentations working closely with the Health BU and Food BU (especially Sweet categories) to integrate various insights (category, consumer, and flavor trends, etc.) with customer brand information (brand values, brand positioning, customer behavior, etc.).

    This role will have a specific focus on dietary supplements and functional food and beverage.
    Essential Duties & Responsibilities
    Integrate relevant market, trend and consumer insights with brand understanding to develop and present new concept ideas to Sweet and Health accounts:


    Conduct market research and analyze secondary data using web sources and external data suppliers (Mintel, Technomic, Trend Hunter, NPD, SPINS, etc.) to create market overviews and trend presentations for reactive and proactive projects.

    Conduct research to understand market trends, consumer preferences, and competition specific to ingredients (flavors, natural ingredients and active ingredients) to inform the sales and growth strategies.

    Create trend and consumer insight reports on focused categories and flavors.
    Communicate with international MSCI colleagues for international insights and projects.
    Collaborate on all Sweet and Health customer projects and requests that need MSCI support.

    Guide online content sharing and implement online email initiatives:


    Collaborate with Health and Food BUs and Account Managers to implement campaigns to both promote yearly BU initiatives and PR calendar.

    Define and create relevant offerings and content for push SAP Marketing Cloud email campaigns.
    Implement digital content marketing initiatives including content creation (blog posts, e-books, teasers) together with the Symrise digital marketing specialist.
    Identify relevant content for the content marketing meeting on a weekly basis.

    Develop and Promote AOP (Annual Operating Plan)

    Initiatives:
    Define scope of the projects with VP and Directors of Marketing.
    Work with outside agencies to run the research with appropriate methodologies.
    Create teasers, small presentations, and extended presentation decks.
    Present with regional account managers for strategic accounts.
    Develop and apply appropriate offline and online promotion.

    Support VP and Directors of Marketing for customer engagement event logistics:

    Work with customers and external partners to coordinate synergies around all events.
    Tradeshows
    Customer Treks.
    Partnership with StarChefs.

    About You
    Knowledge and Experience Requirements
    B.A. / B.S. in marketing required. MBA preferred.
    2 years in health and functional food / beverage space (ideally functional bars).
    3 to 5 years in marketing and familiar with consumer insights.
    A deep understanding of the North American dietary supplement industry, market dynamics, and trends is essential.

    Experience in consumer research (gathering insights, survey creation, presenting insights) and in digital marketing concepts (automated marketing, lead generation, analytics) is a plus.

    Skills & Abilities
    Strong organizational, written and presentation communication skills.
    Ability to synthesize data into storytelling that connects with customers brands.
    Ability to re-prioritize work based on business activities.
    Ability to effectively work under tight deadlines and manage projects independently.
    Passionate about food and beverage.
    Creative thinking and willingness to learn.
    Excellent people skills and an upbeat and enthusiastic attitude.

    Candidate should be a self-starter with a proactive mindset who is able to work independently to meet deadlines and accomplish goals.

    Skills and proficiency in the use of information sharing platforms and tools (SAP, Microsoft Office suite of products, Project Management tools, etc.).

    Ability to travel domestically by land and air about 30% of the time.
