    The core purpose of this position is to ensure that the company's clients are serviced following the highest standard of quality while maximizing efficiency and productivity while upholding the regulations for treating ponds and lakes. This role is integral to the smooth and profitable execution of work performed by Dragonfly Pond Works.

    Responsibilities

    Working under the supervision of the Crew Leader, the technician is responsible for completing all assigned project work as part of the team. This is a physically demanding field-based position that requires critical thinking, teamwork, and an emphasis on safety. While each project is different, the technician's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Review of and understanding of project notes and materials lists for all projects assigned to ensure tasks are completed as specified.
    • Communicate clearly and effectively with crew members and Regional Manager to clarify project scope and timeline.
    • Complete repairs on a variety of ponds, lakes and other stormwater control measures as assigned.
    • Prepare the project site in advance of dredging.
    • Clearing vegetation and obstacles, setting up geotube bags, assembling and launching the pumps.
    • Operate pump dredge while being in the water, regrade shoreline and stabilize with riprap and/or install sod.
    • Operate tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner as necessary to complete project scope.
    • Includes, but is not limited to: Running and Maintaining 2'' and 4'' trash pumps, Mini excavator, Skid steer, UTV, Truck & Trailer, Chainsaw, Jon boat, Kayak, hand tools, etc.
    • Inspect and maintain vehicles and equipment to ensure all tools are in safe, working condition at all times.

    What you need

    • Strong swimming ability and comfortable being in the water for several hours per day
    • Willingness to travel
    • Mechanically inclined with the ability to identify and troubleshoot problems on the job site
    • Background and experience in lake/pond dredging, stormwater maintenance, landscaping, commercial mowing, turf management, grading, erosion control
    • Ability to regularly work on slopes, around water and in variable weather conditions.
    • Understands and follows all company safety policies.
    • Collaborative team spirit - works well as part of a team.
    • Ability to lift and move up to 80 lbs.
