- Developing, fabricating, delivering, updating, testing and maintaining special prototype and test hardware
- Integrating the prototype and testing hardware into laboratory and shipboard environments
- Developing or revising integration plans, and providing all materials, cables, connectors, mock-ups, equipment, test devices, tools, commercial software, shipping containers, and consumables required for proper hardware integration.
- Updating and maintaining hardware documentation including Hardware Development Plans for changes incorporated through specification changes, testing, and conversion requirements.
- Analyzing hardware faults, performance loss, degraded performance, intermittent operational anomalies, requirement deviations, and insufficient operability to determine the root cause, generating alternative solutions and producing recommended courses of action

McLaughlin Research Corporation is a full life cycle engineering and technical services company, partnering with our customers to support a wide range of Department of Defense weapon, combat, and sensor system programsThe Engineering Technician position will support the Sensors and SONAR Systems Department of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division Newport which is responsible for a full spectrum of engineering and research efforts pertaining to Sensors, SONAR, Undersea Warfare and Autonomous Vehicles
Engineering services are required for analyses, in-service engineering, prototype development, test and evaluation, and system engineering services in support of Towed, Hull and Sensor System programs
Towed Systems include developmental and in-service towed arrays, tow cables, towed array handling systems and associated signal path components
Hull and Sensor systems include hull mounted arrays, transducers, hydrophones, acoustic windows, outboard electronics, array structures and associated cabling
Job Requirements:
The qualified candidate will have 2+ years of work related experience in electrical/electronic systems
The Engineering Technician will perform non routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity, using operational precedents which are not fully applicable
Such assignments, which are typically parts of broader assignments, are screened to eliminate unusual design problems
