    The primary role of Engineering function within Product Development team is to create specifications and designs for new products or improvements and enhancements to existing products. Works closely with product team, development team, and other stakeholders to understand and define customer needs in these designs. Software Engineers are responsible for designing, writing, and testing code for product features and defects planned within a sprint.

    Brightree is seeking a software engineer to work with a talented development team in our Software as a Service development group. The ideal candidate will be a smart, motivated individual seeking an opportunity to work on large-scale / high-volume web applications writing code that is optimized for high performance, high availability, and scalability. You will work closely with our software developers and contribute to the development and implementation of a variety of internet-driven applications for Brightree and our customers. You will be responsible for following policies and procedures and maintaining best practices for the organization's product environments. You will have strong problem-solving, analysis, and design skills.
    Location: Atlanta or Tennessee (Hybrid - twice a week in office)
    Let's talk about the role
    • Your primary role would be designing and developing enhancements to a prominent e-prescribe solution. Our legacy UI is implemented in PHP, and our new UI is implemented in Angular (Typescript). Our backend APIs are implemented in .NET Core C#. All solutions are containerized and deployed to AWS via Terraform Cloud solutions.
    • Design, develop, implement, and deploy AWS cloud solutions.
    • Development of high-performance, scalable, and resilient web applications, back-end services, and database solutions.
    • Provide incident management, change management, application support, monitoring, and Tier 2 support as part of the full cycle team responsibilities.
    • Mentor junior members of the team.
    • Perform code reviews and provide feedback, following coding standards and best practices, including secure coding guidelines.
    • Assist with project estimation, planning, task breakdown based on user stories, progress, and bug tracking.
    • Write clear, well-commented, and easy-to-understand code.
    • All engineers are expected to place a strong emphasis on writing automated tests, including unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end functional tests.
    • May be part of an on-call support rotation.
    • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
    Requirements
    Let's talk about you
    • Minimum of 3 years experience in C# or VB.NET, targeting multiple platforms (e.g. Windows, Linux) and application types (e.g. console, web site, REST API).
    • You enjoy learning and are committed to staying up to date with new and emerging technologies.
    • Understanding of challenges associated with high availability, 24x7 applications, and services.
    • Experience with Git, Confluence, and JIRA.
    • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g. Azure DevOps) and infrastructure as code tools (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation).
    • Experience working with, or an understanding of relational databases.
    Nice to have:
    • Back-end experience with APIs and Microservices
    • Experience with front-end JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React) and web servers (e.g. Apache, Nginx, IIS).
    • Experience designing, developing, implementing, and deploying AWS cloud solutions.
    • Experience with testing frameworks (e.g. Xunit, Nunit, Selenium), and testing tools (e.g. JMeter, Postman, Cucumber)
