    Description

    Accounting Supervisor Position at Gaming Company

    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or equivalent.
    • 3-5 years of tax or related accounting supervisory experience.
    • Intermediate level skills with Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook, basic office equipment, and 10-key.
    • Clear understanding of change management abilities to develop solutions requiring operational practice shifts.
    • Proven decision-making and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to guide design and strategy for using electronic system tools to enhance processes, mine data, and report data.
    • Able to lead and mentor a team for optimal results.
    • In-depth knowledge of internal accounting control procedures of gaming operations.
    • Excellent written, verbal, and public presentation communication skills.
    • Must demonstrate ability to handle all situations professionally.
    • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
    • Initiative-driven with a focus on continuous improvement.
    • Team player with a direct and solution-oriented approach.
    • Professional appearance and demeanor.
    • Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
    • Effective communication skills in English, both written and oral.
    • Able to prioritize based on urgency and lead through high-volume and stressful periods.

    PREFERRED:

    • Previous experience with Boyd Gaming Corporation gaming and financial systems.
    • Experience in a similar casino resort or Financial Shared Services Center setting.
    • Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles.

    Motivated professional with 3-5 years of federal/state tax research and compliance experience at a company operating in multiple states.

    • Strong knowledge of federal/state/local income tax compliance, US GAAP accounting, and ASC740 application.
    • Assist in Federal, State, and Local audits.
    • Familiarity with Cost Segregation studies and fixed asset tax depreciation.
    • Working knowledge of Sales/Use Tax and Property Tax.
    • Relevant analytical and research skills for special projects and tax planning.
    • Software proficiency in Excel, Word, tax research, and income tax preparation software.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Qualifications: 4-year degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred. Experience in public accounting or corporate tax department.
